How to Bind a Phone Number to Your OKX Account
Prerequisites for binding a phone number:Your account must not have any other phone number bound, and the phone number you want to use must not have been used by anotherOKXaccount. If you want to change the bound number (replace number A with number B), the procedure differs from a simple binding, as the system needs to verify both the old and new numbers.

Steps
You can bind a phone number via the OKX App or the website. The steps vary slightly.
App: Open the OKX App, tap the icon in the top-left or bottom-right corner to go to [User Center] → [Security Center] → find [Phone Number] → tap [Bind Phone Number]. Follow the prompts to enter the new phone number, receive and enter the verification code, and complete Google Authenticator (2FA) verification.
Web: Log in, click your avatar in the top-right corner to go to [Personal Center] → [Security Center] → under "Verification Methods," find [Phone Number] → click [Bind]. Follow the prompts; you will need both a phone verification code and a Google Authenticator code for double confirmation.
Identify Your Situation
Situation 1: Your account has never had a phone number boundThis is the simplest case. Follow the steps above. After binding, the phone number will serve as one of your login and verification methods. Note that the platform requires both a phone number and an email to be bound during registration.
Situation 2: You want to change the bound phone number (your current number is no longer in use)The system will require verification codes from both theold phone numberand thenew phone number, plus a Google Authenticator code. After a successful change, withdrawals will be disabled for 24 hoursas a security measure.
Situation 3: You cannot receive the verification code on your old phone numberOn the binding/change page, near the verification code input field, there is usually an option like "Can't verify?" or "Another method." You can switch toemail verificationorGoogle Authenticator verification. If all channels fail, contact customer support.
Common Failure Reasons and Solutions
Phone number already in use: If you see "This phone number is already in use," it means the number is bound to another OKX account. Each phone number can only be bound to one account.
Cannot receive the verification code: Check your phone signal, SMS blocking settings, and available storage space. If you still can't receive it, click "Didn't receive the code?" on the verification page to opt for a voice call with the code.
Google Authenticator code mismatch: Ensure your phone's system time is set to "Automatic sync"; otherwise, the dynamic code may be invalid.
Changed security settings within the last 24 hours: If you recently changed your password or email, the system may temporarily lock certain security operations. Wait for the time window to pass before trying again.

Security Reminders
Use a phone number registered in your own name: Always bind a phone number that is verified under your real name. Otherwise, you may fail KYC verification, and your account could be restricted.
Note withdrawal limits after a change: For 24 hours after changing or unbinding a phone number, withdrawals and P2P selling features will be suspended.
Phone numbers cannot be fully unbound: OKX currently does not allow complete removal of a bound phone number; you can only replace it with another valid number.
Verification: After binding, go to [Security Center] and check the list of "Verification Methods." Confirm that the phone number is shown as bound. If you changed to a new number, the old one should no longer appear in the list.
