What Information Should the Bank Statement for OKX Supplemental Review Display?
When submitting a bank statement for OKX supplemental review, the key is not how much money it shows, but whether the document can prove that the funds belong to you, are legally sourced, and align with the occupation/income information you have filled in on the platform.
The following are the 5 core pieces of information that the system requires a bank statement to display.
1. Cardholder Name (Must Match Your KYC Real Name)
Purpose: Verify that the name on the statement exactly matches the real name used for your OKX account KYC.
How: Check the first page of the bank statement, usually in the header or account information area, where "Account Name" or "Account Holder" is displayed. If the name on the statement has a typo or an incorrect pinyin order, the review will be directly rejected.
Requirement: The name must be exactly consistent with the spelling on your ID/passport.
2. Bank Name and Official Letterhead
Purpose: Confirm that the institution issuing the statement is a legitimate bank and the document bears the bank's official identification.
How: Check whether the statement header contains the bank's logo and full bank name (e.g., "Industrial and Commercial Bank of China"), rather than an abbreviation of a branch. This is a basic requirement for the formal letterhead. Screenshots or photos taken with a phone, rather than PDFs exported from the bank's app, usually lack a clear bank header and will not be accepted.
Requirement: The header has the bank's full name and logo, and the file is in PDF format or a clear original photo.
3. Time Range (Within the Last 3 Months)
Purpose: Ensure that the statement covers the period required by the platform.
How: According to OKX supplemental review prompts, proof of funds requires a statement covering the last 3 months in total. Check the first and last pages of the statement to confirm that the start and end dates are within the last 3 months.
Requirement: The time range of the statement covers the complete period required by the system (usually the last 3 months); do not submit just one month.
4. Clear Transaction Records and Balances
Purpose: The statement can reflect the inflow and outflow trajectory of funds and the current balance.
How: The main body of the statement must contain detailed transaction records — date, description, income/expense amounts, and balance. Transaction records used to prove the source of funds (such as those labeled "salary" or "transfer") must be clearly visible. If a page shows "No records on this page" or the balance is zero, the statement lacks evidentiary value.
Requirement: The accounts are clear and readable, and key transactions (corresponding to the source of funds you selected in the questionnaire) can be identified.
5. Bank Seal or Electronic Seal
Purpose: Prove that the document has not been tampered with and has legal effect.
How: Check whether the end of the statement carries the bank's official business seal or electronic receipt seal. A self-edited Excel file or a mobile banking screenshot without a seal will be considered invalid.
Requirement: Every page should have the bank's seal (or electronic seal), and the seal must be clear and complete.
If you are transferring from other exchanges such as Binance to OKX, the platform will also require you to provide the account statement of the source exchange (also for the last 3 months) to verify where the funds came from. Providing only OKX's own deposit records is not enough.
Prerequisites
The statement must be issued by a bank account under your own name; statements from a spouse, relative, or company account are not accepted.
If the source of funds you selected in the questionnaire is "Salary," the statement must contain entry records with the words "Salary" or "Payroll."
Common Reasons for Rejection
The address on the statement does not match your declared residence: Although bank statements are mainly used for proof of funds, they are often used to cross-verify the residential address. If the bank's registered address shown on the statement does not match the country/city you filled in for KYC, you may be required to submit additional address proof.
Key information is covered or cropped: Uploaded photos are blurry, have glare, or only show partial pages, resulting in incomplete name, amount, or date visibility.
Incomplete source tracing: As mentioned above, if funds come from a crypto platform like Binance, providing only OKX's deposit statement is insufficient; you must also submit the statement from the source platform.
Risk Warning
Serious consequences for forging statements: Forging a bank statement is fraud. Once identified by the platform's risk control, the account will be permanently frozen and funds cannot be withdrawn.
Choosing the wrong fund source category: Selecting the wrong source of funds in the additional authentication questionnaire (e.g., choosing investment returns instead of salary) may lead to rejection. If you made a mistake, you can click "Update Now" on the additional authentication page in the app to re-select and resubmit.
Completion Standard
After submission, the system review usually takes 24 hours. Log in to the OKX App, go to the [Identity Verification] page, and check that the status of the additional authentication changes from "Under Review" to "Verified" or "Approved." If there is no feedback after more than 24 hours, you can inquire about the ticket status through the in-app online customer service.
