Short answer: No. Once your OKB is in Flash Earn, before it is redeemed, it does not count toward your OKB holdings, so it cannot help improve your fee tier.

Why not? First look at how OKB holdings are calculated
When OKX calculates your fee tier, the OKB holdings it counts are clearly defined. The official rules state:
A user's total OKB holdings refers to the total amount of OKB held in the funding account, trading account, and finance account across the user's main account and sub-accounts. OKB assets in Simple Earn products are currently not counted.
The key part is that "OKB assets in Simple Earn products are currently not counted." Flash Earn essentially places the OKB you subscribed into Simple Earn, a flexible savings product. So when you put your OKB into Flash Earn, it moves from your funding or trading account to your finance or earn account. When the system calculates your OKB holdings, this portion no longer counts.
What is the impact? Your fee tier may drop
This means that if you put a large amount or even all of your OKB into Flash Earn, your OKB holdings will decrease. The most direct result is that your fee tier may drop.
If your tier drops, your trading fee rate will become higher, and your original VIP benefits may also be affected. In addition, according to OKX rules, fee tiers are updated daily, so this impact will quickly show up in your trading costs.
What about your Flash Earn quota?
Here is a noteworthy detail: your Flash Earn subscription quota is determined by the fee tier you had at the time of subscription. But if your tier later drops because your OKB is locked up, the amount you already subscribed will not be returned. However, you will not be able to subscribe to more.
For example, suppose you were VIP1 and subscribed 200 OKB. Later your tier drops to a regular user level with a subscription quota of 50. The 200 OKB you already subscribed will remain valid, and the extra 150 OKB above the new quota will not be returned. You simply cannot subscribe to any new Flash Earn products.

How to decide? It depends on how you plan to use your OKB
The answer depends on whether your OKB is meant to be "used" or "held":
If your OKB is mainly for use, such as lowering trading fees: joining Flash Earn may not be worth it. To earn a little interest or airdrop rewards, you may lose your fee discount, which may not be a good trade-off in the long run.
If your OKB is mainly for long-term holding: putting idle OKB into Flash Earn to earn some yield is a good choice. When you need it to raise your tier or join other activities, you can redeem it at any time. Just note that it takes some time for funds to move from the earn product back to your spot account, so remember to allow enough time before you actually need it.
