Which Account Should BNB Be in Before Joining Launchpool? Preparation Steps

The short answer: BNB must be in your Earn account, in a flexible or locked product. Then Launchpool will automatically count your mining reward. If BNB just sits in your spot account, you earn nothing.

Preparation: BNB is already in your spot account

If you just bought BNB on Binance, it will appear in your Spot Wallet by default. You need to move it to your Earn account to start joining Launchpool.

Step 1: Find the BNB Earn product

Open the Binance app and go to the Funds or Assets tab at the bottom. Find the Earn entry at the top (the icon is a golden piggy bank) and tap it.

On the Earn page, find the BNB earning product. Usually there are two types: Flexible (BNB yield pool) and Locked (15–120 days). Beginners should choose Flexible, because you can withdraw anytime. Experienced users can choose Locked for higher yield, but funds will be locked.

Step 2: Deposit BNB into Flexible or Locked

If you choose Flexible, tap Subscribe, turn on the "Auto" button if available, then tap Max to deposit all your BNB.

Key point: whether you choose Flexible or Locked, as long as BNB is in your Earn account, Launchpool mining starts automatically. You do not need to go to the Launchpool page and do an extra "staking" action.

If the system says "Amount must be higher than 0.0015 BNB", it means your spot account has no BNB — either the purchase failed, or something else deducted it after you bought it.

Step 3: Confirm BNB is in your Earn account

After depositing, go to the Assets page and check the BNB balance category. If it shows under "Earn" or "Flexible" instead of "Spot", you have placed it correctly.

Launchpool rewards are settled automatically every hour. Rewards are sent directly to your spot account, and you can check them anytime on the Assets page.

Common mistake: thinking spot holding is enough

This is the biggest beginner trap. If BNB stays in your spot account, Launchpool will not count it. You must put it in your Earn account. If you buy BNB and forget this step, it does nothing for Launchpool.

Risk reminder: Locked BNB cannot be withdrawn

If you choose a locked product (for example, 120 days), your BNB cannot be moved during that time. If the market suddenly drops, you cannot sell it and can only watch the price change. Beginners should try Flexible first. Once you confirm the process works, you can consider switching to Locked.
