What to Say in Binance Video Verification? Troubleshooting Failed Recordings

Binance video verification comes in two completely different scenarios. The script and process are different for each: one is a live video call with customer support where you read a statement on the spot; the other is recording a video yourself and submitting it to resolve issues like account unlocking, resetting 2FA, or restoring withdrawals. First figure out which scenario applies to you, then follow the matching steps.

Scenario 1: Live Video Call with Customer Support (Real-time connection, read on the spot)

This happens when you contact Binance online support and they decide a video call is needed to verify your identity. They will schedule a time and contact you.

When you might encounter this: Usually for sensitive operations that require manual review, such as unlocking an account, resetting 2FA, or reviewing large withdrawals.

What you need to do:

  1. Prepare the ID document you used for KYC in advance (ID card, passport, or driver's license).
  2. Find a quiet place with good lighting and make sure your camera and microphone work properly.
  3. After connecting to the video call, follow the support agent's instructions. Hold your ID facing the camera so that both your face and the document are clearly visible at the same time.
  4. Clearly read the designated statement. The exact content depends on your purpose:
  • If applying for a withdrawal:

"Today is [date], I am requesting to withdraw XXX USDT from my account. I confirm this is my own operation. I am contacting Binance support to enable the withdrawal function for my Binance account This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.."

  • If resetting two-factor authentication (2FA):

"Today is [date], I am requesting to reset the Google/SMS/email/passkey security verification (2FA) for my account. I confirm this is my own operation. I am contacting Binance support to reset the security verification for my Binance account This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.."

According to Binance's official instructions, if you are not fluent in English, you can read the statement in your native language. However, it is recommended to write the statement in English on a piece of paper in advance and hold it up in front of the camera together with your ID during recording.

Completion standard: The support agent verbally confirms "verification passed", and you will also receive a confirmation message in the chat box.

Scenario 2: Self-Recorded Video Submission (Offline recording, uploaded for review)

In this case, you do not need to talk to customer support in real time. Instead, you record the video yourself according to Binance requirements and submit it for review.

When you might encounter this: Usually when there is an abnormal situation with your account, such as:

  • Account unlock request: Your account is locked and needs video verification to unlock.
  • 2FA reset: You cannot access Google Authenticator or your phone number.
  • Withdrawal function restoration: Your withdrawal function has been suspended and needs video verification to restore.
  • Multiple people/twins detected during face verification: During KYC face recognition, multiple faces were detected, and a statement video is needed as proof.

What you need to say in the video:

  • If applying to unlock your account:

"Today is [date], I am requesting to unlock my personal account. I confirm this is my own operation. I am contacting Binance support to request unlocking my Binance account This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.."

  • If applying to reset 2FA (basically the same content as Scenario 1, just recorded differently):

"Today is [date], I am requesting to reset the Google/SMS/email/passkey security verification (2FA) for my account. I confirm this is my own operation. I am contacting Binance support to reset the security verification for my Binance account This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.."

  • If face verification detected another person/twin:
    • The main user says: "Today is [date], I am requesting to withdraw XXX from my personal account. I confirm this is my own operation. I am contacting Binance support to enable the withdrawal function for my Binance account This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.."
    • The other person appearing in the video says: "Today is [date], I am assisting XXX to re-enable the withdrawal function for the Binance account This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.."

If you cannot speak English or are not familiar with the content, you can hold a piece of paper with the written statement in the video and explain the content in Chinese.

Troubleshooting Failed Recordings

Binance's video recording requirements are quite strict. The following situations will cause rejection and require re-recording:

  • Unclear video: Blurry picture or unclear audio.
  • ID information not readable: Glare on the ID photo, obstruction, creases, or missing key information.
  • Face obstruction: Hair covering the eyes, severe glasses glare, or wearing a mask.
  • Using screen recording or editing: Must be a real recording. No screen recording, no filters or watermarks, no editing.
  • Background too dark or static: Official requirements state the background needs sufficient lighting and dynamic elements (such as people walking or vehicles), avoiding a "facing a white wall without moving" shot.
  • File exceeds size limit: A single video must not exceed 200 MB. Accepted formats: mp3, mp4, avi, rm, rmvb, mov, wmv.

How to Check After Submission

After submitting the video, Binance customer support will inform you of the review result through online chat — whether it is "verification successful" or "additional materials needed". If you receive a "further action required" notice, simply re-record according to the specific reasons listed by support.
