Binance Age Requirement Not Met? Account Eligibility Check

If your age does not meet the requirement, you basically cannot open a Binance account — you must be at least 18 years old. During registration you may enter any birth year, but when you reach the identity verification (KYC) step, the system reads the date of birth on your ID. If you are under 18, it will block you. There is no way around it.

Step 1: Check where you are stuck

First figure out if your account is stuck at the age entry step or already in the ID verification step. Look at the page message. If you just registered and have not uploaded an ID yet, it is only the form checking your age. If you already submitted an ID or passport photo, then the face or ID check rejected it. If it is stuck at ID verification, the system has already read your date of birth.

Step 2: Check the age on your ID

Confirm whether the ID document you are using shows that you are 18 or older. Check the expiration date and date of birth on your ID. If your birthday shows you are not 18 yet, the ID is not valid for this process. It will not pass. Confirm that the date of birth on the document is under 18.

Step 3: Note special age rules by region

In some regions the legal adult age may not be 18, but under Binance's general rules, if you are under 18, the account cannot pass final verification. If your document does not meet the requirement, there is no further action. This step usually does not show a separate message; it simply fails.

Risk warning

Do not use someone else's ID to pass identity verification. Even if it passes the first check, later withdrawals or large transfers may trigger a live verification. The consequences are worse than not being able to register. Your account may be flagged as risky.

Common failure reason

The most common mistake is entering a birth date under 18 during registration, thinking you can change it later. On Binance, if the ID check fails, the system will not let you re-enter a different year to bypass it. You can only use an ID that meets the age requirement.

Next step

If you do not meet the age requirement yet, do not submit documents repeatedly. You need to wait until you turn 18. After that, go back to the "Identity Verification" page and upload your ID again. The system will automatically read your new status.
