Payment screenshots fail to upload usually because of the wrong file format, size, or submission channel. Binance P2P's appeal system has strict rules for evidence, and a screenshot is only one optional form. If you keep getting upload errors, simply switch to a video proof or a PDF bank statement.
In Binance P2P trading, if the seller does not release crypto after you pay, or if a buyer files a complaint after you receive payment, the fastest way is to start an appeal via the "Help" button on the order page. During the appeal, you will be asked to upload supporting documents. When screenshots won't upload, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Confirm the appeal entry and reason
Make sure you are in the correct appeal page. Do not send images through the chat window. Path: Open Binance App → P2P Trading → Orders → Find the order → Tap "Need Help" or "Appeal," select the matching reason (e.g., "I have paid but the seller has not released crypto" or "I did not receive buyer's payment"), and confirm you are on the formal appeal page that includes an "Upload Evidence" field.
Step 2: Check if the screenshot meets the file rules
The most common reason a screenshot won't upload is wrong format or file size. Look at the upload hints on the appeal page. Binance P2P appeal accepts these evidence types:
- Screenshot (usually JPG/PNG, with a size limit)
- Video evidence (recorded with another device; screen recording is not accepted)
- PDF bank statement (screenshots converted to PDF are not accepted)
Check the required format and maximum file size for that appeal channel. If screenshots keep failing, switch to another accepted evidence type.
Case A: Appeal after payment – how to prove you paid
A single screenshot may not be enough. Binance support may ask for more complete evidence. The best practice is to submit video proof that meets these rules:
- Film with another phone; screen recording is not allowed.
- Show the full process: phone home screen → app store → open bank app → log in (you can cover the password) → show account info → show transaction record.
- The video must clearly show the transfer amount, recipient's details, transaction time and status.
- The background must be well lit. Static or dark backgrounds are rejected.
- File size under 200 MB; accepted formats include MP4, AVI.
Case B: Seller appeal – how to prove you did not receive payment
Besides video evidence, we recommend also submitting a PDF bank statement with these requirements:
- Must be a PDF file, under 200 MB.
- Do not use a screenshot saved as PDF.
- The statement must show the last 3 months of transactions.
- It must include date, time, currency, account number, and account holder's name.
- Do not edit or crop the document.
Risk reminder
Screenshots sent in the order chat window are not treated as formal appeal evidence. Customer support does not use chat images as payment proof when mediating disputes. You must enter the appeal page, choose the reason, and upload files there to officially file the dispute. Sending pictures only in the chat without a formal appeal may delay the resolution or even cause your asset to be released to the wrong party.
Common failure reasons
The most overlooked reason a screenshot fails to upload is that images sent through the chat are compressed. Payment screenshots from WeChat or Alipay compressed in the chat may lose key details (like transaction ID, transfer time), leading to appeal failure. The right way is to use the formal appeal entry and upload the original file – choose the file in the appeal field, do not send it through the chat.
Next steps
If you have tried and screenshots constantly fail, simply record a video instead. Use another device to film the whole operation exactly as outlined in Binance's video rules, and resubmit on the appeal page. After submission, support usually reviews the evidence within 4–8 hours. You can check the result directly on the appeal page. If the appeal is rejected, the system will show the exact reason; prepare your evidence again following the hint.
