Many people mistakenly think that once a P2P trade is completed, there is no need to keep related materials. They only get into trouble when their account is flagged by risk control and customer support asks them to prove ownership of the funds, but they cannot find compliant verification materials anywhere on their phone. Keeping records is not about being overly cautious; it is about being prepared for unexpected risk control checks. This article clearly explains which records you need to keep for P2P trades and how to keep them so that your source of funds proof can withstand official review.

Core Principle: Keep Evidence, Not Just Screenshots
For many people, "keeping records" means casually taking a screenshot and saving it on their phone. When risk control asks for supplementary materials, they realize the screenshot is blurry, missing key information, or has mismatched dates, and it gets rejected. Truly effective evidence requires three things: the platform order voucher + the bank statement + the chat log.
Record 1: Binance P2P Order Voucher (Platform-Side Record)
This step is the simplest, but many people do not know where to find it.
Goal: Download the official receipt for every completed P2P order. This is a legally binding transaction voucher generated by the platform.
Steps:
Web version: Log in to the Binance official website, go to [P2P] → [All Orders], and click [Receipt] next to the completed order to download it.
Download limit: You can download up to 10 receipts within 24 hours, and each receipt can be downloaded up to 20 times.
Orders older than 6 months: You need to filter by quarter range before downloading.
Profit and Loss Statement: If you need to organize taxes or accounts, go to the P2P page. Next to [Orders], there is [Profit & Loss Statement]. You can select the coin and time range to generate and export it.
Completion standard: Every trade has a PDF order receipt saved locally or in the cloud.
High-risk warning: Never use a "screenshot" instead of a receipt. Binance officially requires PDF format bank statements and official receipts when reviewing appeals and risk control materials. Any screenshot converted to PDF will be rejected.
Record 2: Bank or Payment App Transaction Statement (Fund-Side Record)
This is the key evidence proving that the funds actually left your account.
Goal: Export the bank or payment platform statement for the corresponding time period as a chain-of-custody proof of the source of funds.
Steps:
Log in to your online banking or payment app and go to the account or transaction records page.
Select a time range of 3 months back from today.
Export the statement in PDF format. Do not crop, do not edit, and do not add a password.
Completion standard: The bank statement PDF contains all of the following information: date, time, currency, account number, and account holder name. If you use multiple bank cards or different fiat currencies, export each card separately.
Common reason for failure: Some people only screenshot a partial view of the transaction record and miss the bank account holder name. During risk control review, if the name does not match, the materials are directly rejected.
Record 3: Chat Logs with the Counterparty
If a dispute occurs during a P2P trade, such as the other party urging you to release coins, asking for third-party payment, or delaying without responding, keeping complete in-app chat logs and error screenshots is the strongest supporting evidence for an appeal.
Goal: Keep all communication during the trade inside the Binance P2P order page chat box. Do not move the conversation to WeChat or Telegram.
Steps:
Conduct all communication inside the [Chat] box of the P2P order.
If the other party asks in the chat to pay through a third-party account or guides you to trade outside the platform, take a screenshot immediately and save it.
If you cannot reach an agreement, click [Appeal] on the order page and submit these screenshot evidences. Binance customer support will step in to handle it.
Completion standard: All communication records are kept within the platform, and key conversations have complete screenshots.
