If you need urgent cash and want to redeem your fixed-term savings earlier than maturity, your first thought is probably "just click redeem to get my money". But early redemption rules for fixed-term crypto products are totally different from flexible savings. After you hit the redeem button, the money you get back could be far less than you expected.

Do not click confirm yet, work through these 2 key calculations first.

Step 1: Confirm if your product supports early redemption or is fully locked during the term

Goal: Confirm if early redemption is permitted for your order, which is the prerequisite for all following calculations.

How to do it: Go to the [Earn] - [Locked Earn] holdings page, find your target order, check the small text next to the "Redeem" button, such as "Early redemption available (processing fee applies)" or "No redemption allowed before maturity". Rules vary for different products:

  • Scenario A: Early redemption supported: The page will show an "Early Redeem" button and display estimated fee prompts. You can move on to calculate the actual redemption cost.

  • Scenario B: Early redemption not supported: The redeem button will be greyed out and unclickable. You don't need to calculate extra earnings, the system won't let you withdraw early, you can only wait until the product matures.

Checkpoint: Confirm that the early redemption function is indeed available for your specific order.

Step 2: Calculate how much of your earnings will be deducted for early redemption

If you confirmed early redemption is allowed, the platform will deduct amounts according to the following standard rules:

  • Already distributed earnings: If you have received daily or weekly earnings from the product before, this part of your profit will usually not be taken back.

  • Undistributed earnings (interest generated from your principal): This is the main source of your potential loss. Early redemption usually leads to all or a large part of your remaining undistributed earnings being deducted. You will only get back your principal plus the already paid earnings, all the future interest you expected to earn will disappear.

  • Extra redemption fee: Some products will charge an additional separate early redemption processing fee, calculated as a certain percentage of your principal, on top of deducting all unearned interest.

Common unexpected loss scenario: Many users assume "Early redemption just means I earn less interest, my principal is 100% safe". But if you redeem very early in the lock-up period, the total earnings you have earned so far may not even cover the extra processing fee, so the final amount you get back could be less than your original principal.

Final check before confirming: Right before you click the final confirm button, the page will display the "Estimated amount you will receive after redemption". Compare this number with the original principal you put in, to see the real actual cost of this early redemption. If the estimated payout is lower than your initial principal, it's recommended to re-evaluate if you really need to redeem early right now.
