There are two ways to add members to an institutional account: Custom Login accounts for managing team permissions, and Sub-accounts for managing a trading operation. If you want a team member to view assets or order history, use a Custom Login. If you want different strategies to trade independently, create a Sub-account.
Option A: Add a member to view assets/orders (Custom Login account)
This feature is mainly for institutional and VIP users. After logging into your main account, click the profile icon in the top-right corner → [Account], then select [Custom Login] → [Create Role Account].
When creating the account, enter the member's email address. That email must not already be linked to another Binance account. Once created, the member logs in with the email and password you set – they do not need to register a new account. A main account can create up to 20 Custom Login accounts.
Role permissions:
| Role | Can view main account balance | Can view order history | Can transfer assets | Can approve actions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Read-only | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ |
| Finance Manager | ❌ | ❌ | ✅ | ❌ |
| Approval Role | ❌ | ❌ | ❌ | ✅ |
Best for: Accountants or risk officers using "Read-only" to check records, finance staff using "Finance Manager" for internal transfers, and compliance reviewers using "Approval Role" for dual-confirmation steps.
Option B: Add a member for independent trading (Sub-account)
Sub-accounts work well when your team runs different strategies or needs to separate assets. Institution users can create a sub-account from the "Sub-account Management" page after logging in – just enter the email and password.
Main account control over sub-accounts:
Asset transfers: The main account can move assets into or out of any sub-account at any time.
Withdrawal control: Only the main account can withdraw funds from a sub-account. The sub-account itself cannot withdraw directly.
Order viewing: The main account can see all sub-account order history and trade records.
Risk isolation: Each sub-account calculates its own positions, leverage, and risk exposure independently.
Maximum number: By default, each institutional account can create up to 10 managed sub-accounts. Contact your account manager if you need more.
Special case: Enterprise verification Delegate Account
If you only want a team member to help fill out and submit corporate identity verification documents, without giving them any access to funds or trading, use a Delegate Account.
How to create: Log into the main account, go to the "Corporate Verification" page, find "Delegate Verification", click [Create], and enter the member's email and password.
Delegate account permissions:
✅ Fill out and submit corporate verification materials
❌ Cannot view main account wallet balance or deposit address
❌ Cannot make any trades
❌ Cannot transfer, move funds, or withdraw
Each corporate account can only create one delegate account.
Verification steps after setup
Once created, log in with the test member account and check these three things:
Correct permissions: Does a Read-only role see asset balances? Can a Finance Manager transfer normally? If something is wrong, delete and recreate the account.
Login success: Did the member receive the email verification? Is 2FA required on first login?
Sub-account active: If you created a sub-account, confirm that the main account's asset page shows the sub-account balance summary.
Next step: Review your Custom Login and sub-account list every quarter. Remove members who have left the team or are no longer needed. On the Binance Custom Login page, simply click [Delete] to remove a member – the change takes effect immediately.
