Institutional accounts (Corporate Accounts) and personal accounts are two completely independent product lines, withdifferent operational paths and verification processes. After registering through the institutional account opening link, security initialization involves three levels: first, completing the "Entity Verification (KYB)" by submitting materials; second, basic security settings after account creation; and finally, the multi-approver approval mechanism unique to institutional accounts.

1. Correct Registration Path for Institutional Accounts

Before registering, it is important to understand the two core differences between institutional and personal accounts:

  1. Personal accounts cannot be converted to institutional accounts: An existing personal account cannot be directly upgraded or converted into an institutional account.

  2. Emails cannot be reused: An email already associated with a personal account cannot be used to register an institutional account, even if that personal account has been deleted.

The correct process is: visit theBinanceofficial website and select the"Institutional Account"or"Corporate Account"entry point. Use anew email that has never been registered with Binanceto create login credentials. After successful registration, the system will prompt you to enter the "Entity Verification (KYB)" process.

2. Entity Verification (KYB): The "KYC" for Institutional Accounts

The identity verification for institutional accounts is calledEntity Verification (Know Your Business, KYB). Unlike personal KYC, which takes minutes to hours, institutional account verification typically takes several weeks, depending on the completeness of the submitted materials.

Prepare the following three categories of materials in advance:

1. Company Information and Documents

  • Certificate of Incorporation

  • Articles of Association or Operating Agreement

  • Proof of company address (utility bill, bank statement, etc., within the last 90 days)

  • Company ownership structure chart (including shareholding percentages)

  • Recent bank statement

2. Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) Information

  • UBO's name, position, and date of birth

  • Copy of passport or ID document

  • UBO's proof of address (within the last 90 days)

  • Completed and signed UBO declaration form

3. Account Creator Identity Verification

  • The account creator (the person submitting the application) must complete personal identity verification (facial recognition + document upload)

  • Provide a valid mobile phone number to receive SMS verification codes

Submission Path: Log in to the institutional account, and on the KYB guidance interface, complete the three sections in order: "Company Information," "UBO Information," and "Identity Verification." You can click"Save and Complete Later"at any time to save progress—no need to finish all at once. Once all sections are checked off, click"Submit Verification"to enter the review stage.

3. Basic Security Settings: Same as Regular Accounts, but Stricter Requirements

During the KYB review period, you also need to complete the following basic security settings to unlock core account functions:

Security MeasureSpecific ActionSpecial Note for Institutional Accounts
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)Bind Google Authenticator or YubiKey hardware keyYubiKey hardware-level protection is recommended for institutional accounts
Anti-Phishing CodeSet a custom phrase to identify official emails
API Key Permission RestrictionsIf using API, set RSA key pair, restrict IP whitelist, and grant only minimal necessary permissions (e.g., read-only, no withdrawals)IP whitelist is mandatory; do not use API keys without bound IPs in production environments
Withdrawal Address WhitelistAllow withdrawals only to pre-approved addresses

Once basic security settings are completed, core trading functions will be officially enabled after passing KYB review.

4. Unique Security Mechanism for Institutional Accounts: Multi-Approver Withdrawal Approval

This is the biggest security difference between institutional and personal accounts. Binance provides a"Multi-Approver Withdrawal Approval"feature for all institutional accounts that have passed KYB.

The core logic of this mechanismis: an institutional account can set up multiple "approver" roles. Each time a withdrawal request is initiated, a specified number of approvers must complete secondary confirmation within a set time for the withdrawal to be executed. This means that even if one person's login credentials are stolen, assets cannot be transferred out alone.

When used in conjunction with Custom Login Accounts, institutional accounts can set up three different permission roles:

RolePermission ScopeUse Case
Read-Only RoleView main account balance, deposit addresses, order history; no operations allowedFinancial audit, report viewing
Finance Manager RoleTransfer funds between main and sub-accounts; cannot view balance or tradeDaily fund allocation
Approver RoleOnly for multi-approver withdrawal approval; cannot view other informationWithdrawal approval process

Operational Note: The multi-approver withdrawal approval feature must be activated through your account manager; it cannot be enabled on the web interface. After submitting KYB, proactively contact your assigned account manager to discuss security configuration needs.
