When you see the "ID already used" message during Binance registration, the direct reason is that this ID card has already been successfully linked to another Binance account. Binance's risk control rule is very clear: one identity (including ID card, passport, etc.) can only verify one account. So you now face two paths: "find the old account" or "submit an appeal." There is no third shortcut.

Risk warning: Never try to use a family member's ID to open a new account and then operate it yourself. This is not a workaround; it's called "account linking." At best, the new account will have limited functions. At worst, your main account and all linked accounts will be permanently banned for violating the "one person, one account" rule.
Step 1: Try your best to recover the old account
This is the highest priority and safest approach. Do not skip this step and go straight to the appeal.
What to do: Try to log in to Binance using all your phone numbers and emails, or use the "Forgot password" function to reset.
How to do it: On the login page, click "Forgot password" and enter your commonly used phone number or email. The system will tell you whether an account exists. At the same time, search your email inbox for keywords like "Binance", "verification", and so on, to find the registration email from back then.
Completion standard: If you can log in successfully, or reset your password via SMS code/email link and log in, the problem is solved. After logging in, you can see the specific "ID already used" status in the Identity Verification center.
Step 2: If you can't find it, start the "appeal" process
If you tried every possible account but cannot log in (for example, the account has been deleted or you completely forgot the details), you can only go through the official "Forgot Account" appeal channel.
What to do: Submit an appeal form to prove you are the legal holder of this ID document.
How to do it:
On the Binance login page, click "Need login assistance?" or "Forgot account" to enter the appeal page.
Prepare materials:
The original ID document (for taking photos and videos). Binance recommends using the same document you used for the original verification.
A clear selfie video holding the ID document. Say to the camera: "Today is (date). Due to personal reasons, I have forgotten my Binance account. Please assist in providing the account information." If you are in a non-English region, you can write this English sentence on a piece of paper, hold the paper together with the ID document in the video.
(Optional but recommended) A video recording of a withdrawal record from another platform to this Binance account within the past 3 months, to prove you are the actual owner of the funds.
Follow the on-page instructions to fill in your nationality, upload the ID photos and video files.
Completion standard: Receive the "appeal received" confirmation email from Binance's system, which will include an appeal number.

Step 3: Wait for review and follow up
What to do: Wait for Binance's manual review.
How to do it: After submission, the review is usually completed within 1 business day (excluding weekends). During this time, keep an eye on the email address you filled in when submitting the appeal.
Completion standard: Receive an approval email that tells you how to retrieve your account. If there is no reply after 3 business days, contact online customer service via the official help center and directly provide your appeal number to ask for a progress update.
Common reasons for failure: The video recording does not meet requirements (face or document is reflective, blurry, or obstructed; the video has been edited), or the document you provided differs from the one you used during the original verification. Binance has very strict requirements for the "selfie video" – it must be recorded continuously without any cuts.
How to verify after completion: If you get your account back through the appeal, log in and immediately go to "Wallet - Account Overview" to check if your assets are intact. If your assets are still there, turn on Google Authenticator (2FA) and SMS verification right away, and write down the new backup codes. Afterwards, you can apply to update your document information in "Identity Verification" (if the document has expired or been replaced), but be aware that once you apply to update KYC, the account will be temporarily locked to "withdraw only" mode until the new information is approved.
