You can add funds while a grid is running. The key point is that adding funds helps the grid handle larger price swings, but it does not change the grid's existing operating logic. The new money directly increases margin and expands the account's risk tolerance.

How Adding Funds Affects Grid Parameters
Adding funds solves one thing: it widens your safety margin.
If the price falls below the lower boundary of the grid, the added margin can protect the account from forced liquidation due to insufficient margin. It gives the grid more time for the price to come back.
But adding funds does not change the grid's price range, the number of grids, or already placed orders. The grid keeps running the same way. Only the safety cushion behind it becomes thicker.
How to Add Funds: Two Methods
Manually Add Margin
How to find it: Binance App or website → [Trading Bots] → [My Grids] → find the running grid → tap [Add Margin] or [Add Position].
Execution: Enter the amount you want to add and confirm. Funds will move from the Futures Wallet to the grid bot account and take effect immediately.
Turn On "Auto-Add Margin"
What it does: When the grid's margin ratio falls below a certain level, the system automatically moves funds from the Futures Wallet into the grid to prevent liquidation.
Note: This option is usually available in the settings panel when you create a Futures Grid. If you did not turn it on at creation, you normally cannot enable it while the grid is running. You need to stop the grid and create a new one to use it.
Check These Two Things Before Adding Funds
Check if margin meets the minimum notional value per grid: Each grid order has a minimum notional value. If the initial margin cannot cover the number of grids, the system may show "Insufficient Initial Margin". Before adding funds, make sure the extra money can bring each grid order up to the minimum requirement.
Check whether you selected the wrong grid type: A spot grid has capital requirements, but a Futures Grid lets you customize the opening capital. If grid creation failed because of "insufficient funds", you may have selected the wrong grid type (for example, a non-Futures Grid). This cannot be fixed simply by adding funds.
How to Confirm It Worked
After successfully adding margin, check the Margin Balance column in the [My Grids] list. The number should be higher than before by the amount you added. At the same time, the margin ratio (or maintenance margin rate) should improve, and the liquidation price should move farther away from the current market price.

High Risk Warning
Never add a large amount of margin after the price has already fallen below the grid's lower boundary to try to "average down" or "support" the position. If the price keeps falling, the added margin will only speed up losses. It will not act as a floor.
