When you buy Binance Fan Tokens, what you mainly get is voting rights and eligibility to join fan engagement activities. They do not give you ownership of the club, they do not pay dividends, and they do not represent any equity. Their value depends on two things: whether the club you support keeps offering attractive voting events and benefits, and whether other people in the market are willing to pay for that "fan identity."

What you actually get
According to the official Binance Fan Token terms, holding fan tokens gives you the right to take part in governance and interactive voting related to the associated club. That is the core utility. But the terms also clearly state that fan tokens do not grant any of the following:
- Ownership of the club
- Dividend rights or distribution rights if the company is liquidated
- Any form of debt or interest
- Any investment rights
In other words, it is essentially a utility token, not a security. You are not buying "club shares." You are buying "a ticket to participate in certain club decisions and activities."
Voting: weighting rules are more complicated than "how much you hold"
Voting is the most direct use of fan tokens. But there is a rule in the terms that is easy to miss: no matter how many tokens you hold, you only have one vote in each poll. This is different from what you might expect, such as "the more tokens you hold, the more voting power you have."
The official terms say that holding multiple tokens may give your vote "greater weight," but the specific weight is decided by the club and the rules of each poll. At the same time, to prevent a single holder from manipulating a vote, each holder is only granted one vote per poll.
The practical meaning is this: in some polls, holding 1 token and holding 100 tokens may still give you only one vote. But the phrase "greater weight" means that in other polls, the amount you hold may affect how much your vote counts. The specific rules depend on the instructions for that particular poll. There is no single standard.
Voting is also divided into binding and non-binding types. In a binding vote, the club is obligated to carry out the result unless there are special circumstances "beyond reasonable control." A non-binding vote is just opinion collection. Votes have deadlines, and you cannot vote after the deadline passes.
Another operational detail you need to know: when you participate in a vote, your tokens are temporarily locked and cannot be traded on the market until the voting period ends.
What else is there besides voting
The Binance Fan Token platform page lists several additional utility directions:
- Fan Badges: unlock special rewards and privileges
- Limited-edition NFTs: priority access to buy limited NFTs from the club you support
- Exclusive experiences: use tokens to get "money-can't-buy experiences"
- Fan Arena: join match result predictions and earn Star Points to redeem rewards
The specific content, availability, and frequency of these utilities vary by club and also depend on the cooperation arrangement between Binance and that club. There is no single "benefits list" that applies to all fan tokens.
The token you buy may "lose its utility"
There is one sentence in the terms that deserves serious attention: if the agreement with the club or partner expires, or if the partnership ends for any reason, fan tokens may lose their voting rights, their utility may become limited, and their value may fall.
This means the utility of fan tokens is tied to the cooperation between Binance and the club. If the cooperation ends, the token is left as only a shell that can still be traded on the market — and without the voting function, whether the market is still willing to price it is another question.
Binance's official disclaimer also states: Binance has the right to modify and terminate the token, utility functions, and platform-related content without prior notice, and assumes no liability to users.
Risks: value volatility and liquidity
Binance directly labels a risk warning on the Fan Token platform page: fan tokens carry the risk of value fluctuation, and you should conduct your own due diligence before trading.
This warning is not just polite wording. Fan token prices are usually related to factors such as the club's on-field performance, the popularity of voting events, whether Binance launches related promotions, and overall crypto market sentiment. None of these factors are stable.
Liquidity is another practical issue. Fan token trading depth is usually far lower than major cryptocurrencies. If you hold a large amount, you may face noticeable slippage when selling, or you may need to split it into multiple trades to complete the order.
If you are deciding whether to buy
If you are a real fan of the club and want to join voting and fan activities, fan tokens provide an official channel. But first check whether that club currently has active voting and benefits, rather than buying a token that has already cooled down.
If you treat it as an investment, you need to understand that it has no fundamental support: no dividends, no cash flow, no ownership. Its price depends entirely on how the market prices "fan identity," and that pricing can disappear quickly.
A practical checking step: find the token you want to buy on the Binance Fan Token platform, look at how often recent voting events have happened, whether there are ongoing Fan Arena tasks, and the depth of the trading pair. If none of these are active, you may just be buying a token with no real use.
