Buying a car with Binance funds is not really hard on the Binance side. The real difficulty is whether the car dealer accepts cryptocurrency and how you can "legally turn the funds into a car." Currently, the publicly known real cases of buying cars with crypto are concentrated in Lugano, Switzerland. Local dealerships there accept USDT and BTC through the Plan ₿ payment infrastructure. In mainland China, there are legal obstacles to buying a car directly with cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency cannot be used as a payment tool for buying goods or services. If a car dealer claims to "accept crypto," you first need to figure out whether they actually accept the coins or just convert them through a third party.

Dealer Verification: First Understand What They Actually Accept
If a dealer says they "accept cryptocurrency," you need to ask exactly how they receive it. One way is that they have connected a crypto payment processor, like the NAKA system used by Swiss dealerships. When you pay, the coins are instantly converted into local fiat currency for the dealer's account. The dealer receives fiat money. The other way is that they ask you to send coins directly to a personal wallet address, and then they convert it themselves later. The second way is much riskier than the first. The coins you send have no third-party escrow. Whether the dealer actually uses the money to deliver the vehicle depends entirely on their personal integrity.
When checking a dealer, look for these signals: Is it a physical dealership with a showroom and business registration, or are they only talking to you on Telegram or WeChat? Do they push you to "pay quickly because the price will go up soon"? Is their quoted price significantly below market value? Russian police clearly pointed out in a 2025 car purchase fraud warning that requiring crypto-only payment, rushing the deal, and offering a price far below market value are typical signs of this type of scam.
If you are in mainland China, there is another basic question: does the dealer understand that using cryptocurrency to pay for a car is itself in a gray area? Russian legal experts have noted that in jurisdictions where using crypto to pay for goods or services is prohibited, buyers and sellers usually complete transactions through an "intermediary." The intermediary step itself is a risk point. You cannot write "paid in USDT" in the car purchase contract. If a dispute arises later, it is very hard for you to prove that the money was for the car.
Payment Path: What Is Between Binance and the Dealer
Binance does not directly connect to any car dealers. From your Binance account to the dealer, you need at least one step of "withdrawing coins to an external wallet." If you and the dealer agree to pay in USDT or BTC, the process is:
Step 1: Convert your assets to the agreed coin on Binance. If you already have USDT or BTC in your Binance account, skip this step. If not, sell other assets on the spot market.
Step 2: Withdraw coins from Binance to your own wallet. Binance withdrawals require you to choose a network. USDT commonly uses TRC-20, ERC-20, BEP-20, etc. Fees differ a lot. TRC-20 is usually the cheapest at around 1 USDT. ERC-20 can cost as much as 10–20 USDT. The network you choose must match the network the dealer accepts. If the dealer only accepts USDT on TRC-20 and you withdraw ERC-20 USDT, the coins reach your wallet, but the dealer cannot receive them. You will need to do extra steps.
Step 3: Pay the dealer from your wallet. If the dealer uses a payment processor like the Swiss NAKA model, they will give you a payment link or QR code. You complete the payment on your wallet or the payment page. If the dealer gives you a personal wallet address, you transfer directly. The standard for payment completion is that the dealer confirms receipt, not that you see on-chain confirmation. On-chain confirmation only proves the coins reached that address. It does not mean the dealer accepts the payment, and it definitely does not mean the car will be delivered.
If the dealer asks you to transfer directly from Binance to them, there is no need to do that, and it is not recommended. Transferring directly from Binance to the dealer's personal address skips your own wallet layer. You lose the chance to double-check the transfer process. Also, Binance withdrawals have risk control reviews. Large amounts or new addresses may trigger manual review, and the arrival time is uncertain. Using a self-custody wallet as an intermediate layer lets you confirm the address and amount before paying, adding a buffer.
Title Transfer and Settlement: The Deal Is Only Done When You Get the Car
Title transfer and payment are two separate things. After payment is complete, transferring vehicle ownership requires going through the local vehicle administration process. Paying with cryptocurrency does not change the documents needed for title transfer. The purchase contract, proof of identity, vehicle registration documents, etc., are still submitted according to local rules.
What you need to confirm with the dealer in advance is: What price is written on the purchase contract? If the contract states a local fiat amount like Chinese yuan or Swiss francs, but you actually pay in cryptocurrency, the relationship between the contract and the actual payment needs to be confirmed in writing by both parties. Otherwise, if a dispute arises later, such as the car has hidden problems and you need to return it, the refund amount calculation will be very unclear.
The standard for settlement completion: You receive the vehicle ownership registration documents, the vehicle is physically delivered to you, and the dealer confirms the payment is fully settled. If any one of these three conditions is missing, the transaction is not truly complete.
A More Reliable Judgment
If you are in mainland China, I do not recommend buying a car directly from an individual dealer using Binance funds. The reason is not Binance itself. It is that buying a car with cryptocurrency has no compliant path under the current legal framework. If the dealer does not deliver the car after you pay, you have almost no effective legal way to recover your money. Law enforcement cases in Russia and Brazil both show that using crypto to buy cars has become a high-risk scenario for fraud and money laundering. The rate of victims recovering funds after payment is extremely low.
If you are in Switzerland or another jurisdiction that clearly allows using cryptocurrency to pay for goods and services, going through the Lugano NAKA route with a payment processor involved is relatively more controllable. The dealer receives money through a compliant payment system, you pay through the system, and both sides have records. But the premise is still that the dealer is a physical business, you can see the car in person, and the contract terms are clear.
Suggested verification order: First confirm whether the dealer accepts cryptocurrency and through what method. If the dealer only accepts personal wallet transfers, treat this as a high-risk signal. See the car in person and confirm the vehicle documents are real and valid before discussing payment. Before paying, confirm in writing with the dealer: the payment coin, network, amount, and the refund method if the transaction is canceled.
