After Binance Brazil Account Migration: Verify Your Funds and Available Products

After the Brazil account migration, the key step in verifying your funds is not simply checking whether the "total asset number" has changed. Instead, you need to confirm where assets have been moved from and to within the account structure, which products can no longer open new positions, and whether the balance you see covers all sub-accounts. The migration itself will not make assets disappear on a 1:1 basis, but changes in the account structure can make people unfamiliar with the new layout mistakenly think their funds are gone.

First, understand: Are you dealing with the "Brazil local migration" or the "Funding Account redesign"?

These two changes happened close together in time, but they solve different problems, and the entry points for verification are also different.

The core of the Brazil local migration is to transfer the account relationships of Brazilian residents to a local entity and restrict some products in line with Brazilian Central Bank rules. Starting October 27, 2026, Brazilian residents will no longer be able to open new positions in eight product categories: Binance Loans, Binance Pool, Cloud Mining, Margin, Launchpool, Megadrop, HODLer Airdrops, and Alpha 2.0. At the same time, 22 token pairs will stop trading for Brazilian users, but the balances will remain in the account and can be withdrawn or handled separately.

The Funding Account migration to the Spot Account is another global account structure simplification: non-stock crypto assets in the Funding Account will be migrated to the Spot Account. The Funding Account itself will be renamed to the Stock Account in January 2027, keeping only US stocks, stock options, and six settlement currencies. If you open your Funding Account after the migration and find only a few currencies left, or some coins seem "missing," first check the Spot Account instead of assuming your assets are lost.

Follow this order when verifying your funds

Step 1: Look at the total assets in the Spot Account, not a single sub-account.

The design intent of the migration is to consolidate crypto assets that were previously scattered in the Funding Account into the Spot Account. According to Binance's official explanation, non-stock crypto assets are transferred from the Funding Account to the Spot Account at a 1:1 ratio, with total asset value unchanged. The Spot Account balance after migration equals the original spot balance plus the non-stock assets from the original Funding Account. Therefore, the baseline for verification is whether the total valuation of the Spot Account roughly corresponds to the total assets you recorded before the migration, rather than searching account by account for "that original amount."

If you did not take screenshots before the migration, you can use the account export function to generate historical statements for comparison. On the Binance web platform, go to the wallet-related entry, find the account statement or export function, select the date range before and after the migration, and export the data to compare currencies and quantities item by item. This is more reliable than relying on memory.

Step 2: Confirm whether restricted product positions still have unsettled parts.

After October 27, 2026, margin positions cannot open new positions, transfer in funds, or add new borrowing, but existing positions can be retained. Binance has not given a unified mandatory liquidation deadline. Existing Binance Loans borrowings enter a "repayment-only" mode, with no extra fees or penalties charged due to the migration. If you previously had margin borrowing or Loans, what you check is not "whether the coins are still there," but whether the debt and collateral still correspond. The handling of remaining balances is subject to the actual status shown on each product page.

Step 3: Check those 22 tokens that stopped trading.

Affected tokens include XVG, USDE, USTC, DCR, DUSK, PIVX, BB, MANTRA, ONE, GMT, TFUEL, ZIL, ONT, RVN, ACX, HIT, PYR, VANRY, VIC, ICX, SCRT, STORJ. Stopping trading does not mean automatic selling or confiscation. The balances remain in your account, but you cannot continue trading them on Binance Brazil's spot market. When verifying, you should confirm: whether these coins are still in your Spot Account balance list, and whether you need to withdraw them or handle them through other still-available channels. If the balance shows 0, first check whether they were moved to another account type during the migration, rather than immediately concluding they are lost.

Changes in available products affect how you can "use" these funds

After the migration, the range of products available to Brazilian users on Binance has narrowed. The changes below directly affect what you can do after verifying your funds:

Product/FeatureStatus after migrationImplication for fund verification
Spot TradingAvailable (except restricted tokens)Most assets should be visible and tradable in the Spot Account
MarginCannot open new positions; existing positions can be retainedDistinguish "spot balance" from "collateral/borrowed portion in the margin account"
Binance LoansRepayment-only modeLoan balance and collateral need to be reconciled separately
Launchpool / Megadrop / HODLer AirdropsCannot participate in new activitiesInvested assets are returned according to each activity's end rules; verify the arrival location
Alpha 2.0Cannot participate anewHandling of related balances is subject to page status
Futures/DerivativesUnavailable for Brazilian residents; option to migrate to an international account under the Abu Dhabi entityIf you do not migrate, positions become reduce-only/close-only

The purpose of this table is to help you judge: whether a certain balance you see is "unusable" because the product is restricted, or because the asset is truly not there. Product restrictions do not mean asset disappearance, but they do mean you cannot operate it in the original way.

An easily overlooked verification point: New information requirements for international transfers

Starting November 1, 2026, Brazilian users sending crypto to overseas exchanges or self-custody wallets, or receiving crypto from overseas, will be required to fill in the purpose of the transfer and counterparty information. If not filled in, withdrawals cannot be submitted, and deposits will remain in a pending credit status. The single transfer limit to non-Brazilian foreign exchange authorized institutions is $100,000, which may be raised to $500,000.

If you plan to withdraw certain assets to a self-custody wallet or an overseas platform after the migration, you need to include this step in your fund verification plan: having the balance in your account is one thing, being able to transfer it out smoothly is another. Prepare the information in advance before operating, which saves more time than getting stuck in pending status after submission.

When to contact customer service, and when not to

Situations where you do not need to rush to contact support: Coins in the Funding Account have decreased but the total assets in the Spot Account match; a restricted token cannot be traded but the balance is still there; margin positions still exist but cannot open new positions. These are expected results of the migration and product restrictions, not malfunctions.

Situations requiring proactive verification: The total assets in the Spot Account are significantly lower than the total value you recorded before the migration, and you cannot find where they went; a certain coin shows zero in both accounts; you are asked to fill in information when withdrawing but there is no progress for a long time after submission, or a deposit remains pending beyond a reasonable processing time. When contacting support, prepare the exported account statement file, which is far more effective than verbally describing "my coins are gone."
