Which Tokens on Binance Alpha Count for Points? Pre-Trade Eligibility Check

Before you trade, knowing which tokens can earn points essentially means understanding the Alpha Points counting rules, not memorizing a fixed list of tokens—because the categories of tokens that qualify are dynamic, but the rules are fixed.

Here's a 2-step eligibility check before trading.

Step 1: Verify Your Trading Channel – It Must Be 'Binance Wallet' or 'Binance Exchange'

This is the first threshold for scoring. Not every way of buying Alpha tokens counts.

What to do: Confirm which entry point you used for the transaction.

How to do it:

  • Eligible channels: Only purchases made through Binance Exchange (Alpha section) and Binance's keyless wallet count towards points. If you buy on other external wallets or third-party DApps, the system cannot record it, and no points are earned.

  • Wallet status check: Note that if a wallet has been "imported" or "exported", its trading volume will no longer count towards Alpha trading volume. Only addresses with "keyless wallet" status are valid.

  • Access confirmation: In the Binance App, find the Alpha entry at the top of the "Markets" tab, or search "Alpha Activity" in "More Services" to enter.

When is it completed: You have confirmed you are using an official Binance channel for trading.

Common reason for failure: Trading Alpha tokens outside the wallet's "Alpha" area (e.g., using the wallet's regular DEX swap page). Even if you bought the same token, the system won't recognize it.

Step 2: Check the Scoring Rules – Token, Payment Method, and Validity Range

Even if the channel is correct, only purchases of specific types of tokens count, and there are requirements for the payment method.

What to do: Verify that the transaction token and payment token meet the following rules.

How to do it:

According to Binance's official FAQ, the trading volume points calculation logic is as follows:

  • Eligible assets: Only purchases of tokens displayed in Alpha count towards trading volume points. Selling these tokens does not increase points.

  • Eligible payment currencies: Only when you use tokens already listed on Binance Spot (such as USDT, BNB) as the payment currency will the purchase transaction be counted. If you use another unlisted token, even if the trade succeeds, no points are earned.

  • Scope: Once an Alpha token is officially listed on Binance Spot, transactions after its listing will no longer count as Alpha trading volume. That means points can only be earned by purchasing while the token is still in the "Alpha stage."

When is it completed: You have confirmed the token you bought is still in the Alpha section and the payment currency is a mainstream spot asset like USDT or BNB.

How to Confirm You've Done It Correctly?

After completing a trade, verify whether points have been counted using these two methods:

  1. Check points change: Search "Alpha Points" in the App or go to [More] → [News] to access the Alpha Points page. Daily points are calculated based on a snapshot at 23:59:59 UTC, not in real time, so wait for the next day's update.

  2. Verify trading history: If points haven't increased the next day, go to [Assets] → [Alpha] → [Trade History] to check whether the transaction was recorded by the system, and verify the payment currency is correct.

If both steps are confirmed but points still haven't arrived, check if the transaction time was before the snapshot time, or whether the wallet meets the "keyless wallet" requirement.
