If your address proof is rejected, check two things first: the document's issue date and the file type. These are the highest priority in system validation. If they don't match, the system will reject it immediately.

Issue Date: Expired Documents Are the Most Common Reason for Rejection
Binance has clear rules for address proof validity. Different jurisdictions have different time limits.
Most countries and regions: documents must be issued within 6 months
Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Spain, etc.: require within 3 months
India: only accepts documents within 2 months
Binance.US (for U.S. users): requires within 90 days
If your document's issue date exceeds the validity period, the system will reject it in the initial check, showing "document expired" or "document out of validity". It's best to prepare a document from the last 3 months to cover most regions.
File Type: Mobile Phone Bills and Screenshots Converted to PDF Are Not Accepted
Binance has strict rules on acceptable file types. Not every paper you have will work.
Acceptable file types (partial list):
Utility bills (electricity, water, gas)
Bank or credit card statements (must show name, address, bank info)
Government-issued residence proof or official letter
Internet service provider bill (must show service address)
Home insurance statement
Unacceptable file types:
Mobile phone bill — not accepted in most regions
Paystubs and employment contracts
Retailer-issued credit card statements
Pure screenshots converted to PDF — better to upload the original PDF, or ensure the screenshot is clear and complete
Risk reminder: Binance does not accept P.O. Box addresses as residential address proof. The address must be a physical residential address. Also, the address on the document must match the residential address you entered on Binance exactly, including province/state, city, street and house number. Even one character difference can cause rejection.
Other Common Rejection Reasons
If the issue date and file type are fine, check these:
Name mismatch: the name on the document must match the name on your Binance account exactly
Blurred or incomplete file: document must be clear and readable, avoid glare, cropping or covering key info
Address mismatch: residential address different from the one entered will cause rejection

Next Steps
First, check if the document's issue date is within the validity period. If not, download a recent bill from your bank app or government website. Then check the file type — if you previously uploaded a mobile bill or paystub, replace it with a utility bill or bank statement and re-upload. Before uploading, keep the original electronic file. If rejected, just fix the problem and re-upload that document; you don't need to prepare a whole new set of materials.
