Bottom line: OKX Spot says "below minimum trade size" not because your money is too low, but because the coin quantity you entered is below the pair's minimum trade size (minimum order quantity).
This threshold applies to order quantity, not total amount. Even if you have 100 USDT, if a coin's minimum trade size is 10, and you enter only 1, the system will reject it.
Step 1: First, see which case you have
Case A: You see "below minimum trade size"
The coin quantity in the order box is wrong. For example, the ACT/USDT pair has a minimum trade size of 10 ACT. If you enter 1, the system rejects it.
What to do: Increase the quantity to at least the required number. The trading page usually shows "Min X" near the input box. X is the minimum quantity for that pair.
Case B: You were running a trading bot and orders were canceled
If you were running a grid or DCA strategy, and OKX changed the minimum trade size for some pairs, orders below the new threshold are automatically canceled and the strategy stops.
What to do: Go to Trading Bots → Running. Check if any strategy status is "Terminated." If yes, it was likely stopped by the new threshold. Rebuild the strategy using the new rules.
Step 2: Where to check a pair's minimum trade size
OKX changes spot minimum trade sizes dynamically. Each pair is different. The system adjusts them regularly, so do not rely on memory.
What to do: Open the OKX spot trading page → find the pair's "Trading rules" or "Parameters" entry. It is usually near the order box. Open it to see "Minimum trade size" and "Minimum quantity precision."
Or go to the OKX Help Center and search for "spot minimum trade size." You can see past adjustment announcements that list the thresholds for specific pairs.
Completion standard: You clearly see the current pair's minimum trade size, such as "ACT/USDT: 10."
Step 3: Extra limits in the first 5 minutes of a new listing
If you trade a new coin on OKX, note the risk-control rule in the first 5 minutes: each limit order can be at most 10,000 USD, and market orders are not allowed. New users often miss this and get rejected.
Risk warning: threshold changes can stop your running strategy
From 2024 to 2025, OKX adjusted spot minimum trade sizes several times, covering ACT, OKB, OM, FLOKI, ZETA and other pairs. If you have a running grid strategy and your order quantity is below the new limit, that order will be canceled and the strategy will be stopped. Check your strategy status regularly so your bot does not stop without you noticing.
Final check after placing an order
After placing an order, go to Orders → Order History. If the status is "Filled," the order passed the threshold. If the status is "Canceled" and the reason says "quantity below minimum trade size" or similar, go back and increase the quantity, then try again.
