The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has granted OKX a VASP license, meaning Philippine users are protected under local regulatory frameworks when using OKX. The registration process itself only requires a Philippine mobile number capable of receiving SMS and a valid ID. The entire process is completed online, and after registration you can deposit funds directly using Philippine Pesos (PHP).

What You Need to Prepare Before Registration

Prerequisites:

  1. Mobile number: A Philippine mobile number from operators such as Globe, Smart, or DITO that can receive SMS verification codes.

  2. Email address: An international email service such as Gmail or Outlook is recommended for receiving platform notifications and recovering your password.

  3. Identification document: You can use the Philippine National ID (PhilID), driver's license, passport, or UMID card. The document must be valid; make sure all four corners are visible and there is no glare when taking photos.

  4. Network environment: You can access the OKX official website and app directly with a Philippine local network. No VPN is required.

The OKX app supports a Tagalog interface, and you can switch the language during registration and use.

Step-by-Step Registration

1. Go to the OKX Official Website or Download the Official App

What to do: Access the OKX platform through legitimate channels and avoid phishing sites.

How to do it:

  • Desktop: Type the official URL www.okx.com in your browser and confirm the domain name before proceeding. Do not enter via search engine ads.

  • Mobile: For Apple users, search "OKX" in the App Store (requires a Philippine region account). For Android users, search "OKX" in Google Play. The developer displayed in both stores is "OKX Technology Company Limited".

How to know this step is done: The page loads normally and you can see the "Sign Up" button at the top right or the "Mag-sign Up" entry on the app's home screen.

2. Click "Sign Up" and Enter Your Mobile Number

What to do: Enter the registration page, choose mobile number registration, and enter your Philippine number.

How to do it:

  • Click the "Sign Up" button at the top right of the page or on the app's home screen.

  • Choose the "Mobile number" registration method.

  • Select +63 (Philippines) as the country/region code.

  • Enter your Philippine mobile number and tap "Get verification code".

  • Enter the 6-digit SMS verification code you receive.

How to know this step is done: The verification code is accepted and you proceed to the password creation page.

You can also register with an email address, but using a mobile number makes future logins and account recovery more convenient.

3. Set Your Login Password

What to do: Create a strong password for your account.

How to do it:

  • The password must be 8-20 characters and include letters (uppercase and lowercase), numbers, and special characters (such as !@#$%).

  • Do not use easily guessable combinations like birthdays, the last few digits of your phone number, or consecutive numbers.

  • Confirm your password and submit.

How to know this step is done: The system prompts that the password has been set successfully and you move to the next step.

Do not reuse the same password you use for email or social media. OKX official customer service will never ask for your password in any form.

4. Select Your Country / Region of Residence

What to do: Choose your country of residence as prompted by the system.

How to do it:

  • During the registration flow, you will see the option "Which country/region do you live in?".

  • Select "Philippines" from the drop-down list.

  • Confirm and proceed to the next step.

How to know this step is done: The system confirms that services are supported in your selected region and directs you to the KYC identity verification.

You must select Philippines for this step. Your subsequent identity verification requires a Philippine government-issued ID, and the fiat trading pairs and payment methods are set based on this selection.

5. Complete Identity Verification (KYC)

What to do: Submit your personal identity information for platform verification. Without completing KYC, you cannot deposit, trade, or withdraw funds.

How to do it:

  • After logging in, the system will automatically guide you to the "Identity Verification" page (you can also find it under "Account – Security Center").

  • Case A – Using the Philippine National ID (PhilID) or driver's license for verification:

    • Fill in your name (exactly as it appears on the document) and ID number.

    • Upload photos of the front and back of your ID (make sure all four corners are visible, no glare, and the text is clear).

    • Complete face verification (follow the prompts to blink, turn your head, etc.).

  • Case B – Using a passport or UMID card for verification:

    • Fill in your name (as it appears on the passport or UMID) and document number.

    • Upload a photo of the personal information page of your document.

    • Complete face verification.

How to know this step is done: The system displays "Submitted successfully" and the status changes to under review. Review is typically completed within minutes to a few hours, though it may extend to 1-2 business days during peak periods. You will be notified of the result via SMS or email.

Common reasons for failure:

  • The ID photo is blurry, has glare, or the information is obscured.

  • The name or ID number entered does not match the information on the photo.

  • The ID has expired or has less than 6 months of validity remaining.

Risk warning: Registering with someone else's identity information or using forged documents will result in your account being permanently frozen and your funds being irretrievable once discovered by the platform. Please use only your own documents.

6. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) – Strongly Recommended Immediately

What to do: Add a second security layer to your account to prevent asset theft in case your password is leaked.

How to do it:

  • After logging in, go to "Account Settings" → "Security Center".

  • Find "Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)". It is recommended to use Google Authenticator or Authy.

  • Scan the QR code with the authenticator app and enter the 6-digit dynamic code to complete binding.

  • Write down the backup recovery codes displayed during binding and store them in a safe place (do not save them in your phone's photo gallery or in the cloud).

How to know this step is done: The Security Center shows that two-factor authentication is enabled. From now on, you will need to enter the dynamic code when logging in, withdrawing funds, or changing security settings.
