Bottom line: OKX official channel verification checks whether an account or link claiming to be official is really from OKX. It does not check what is wrong with your account. The core rule for spotting fake websites is simple: do not trust your eyes, use the tool.

What the official verification tool can check

OKX provides a public official channel verification page. You can use it to check whether any "OKX official" identity you come across is real. There are two ways to enter:

  • App: profile icon in the top left → 【Help Center】 → 【Official Channel Verification】

  • Web: hover over the question mark on the official website → 【Help Center】 → 【Official Channel Verification】, or visit the official verification page directly

It can check the common scam entry points:

  • Web links: if someone sends you an "OKX campaign page" or "login page," paste the full link to check whether it uses an officially verified domain.

  • Email addresses: if you receive an email claiming to be from OKX, enter the real sender address.

  • Phone numbers: if someone calls claiming to be OKX support, check that number.

  • Social media accounts: including Telegram, X, WeChat, QQ and other channel IDs.

  • Telegram groups: verify group links and group admin identities directly.

Note: when checking a URL, make sure you copy the full link including https://. When checking an account, pay attention to capitalization and the complete ID, or the result may be inaccurate.

Fake websites and fake support: three key signs to remember

Sign 1: the official domain is not okx.com

Phishing sites often buy a look-alike domain, such as okx.com.badsite.com, okx-support.net, or 0kx.com. OKX only recognizes www.okx.com and its subdomains. It does not recognize anything else.

Sign 2: "official staff" contact you first

OKX official support will not privately message you first through Telegram, WeChat, phone, or similar channels. If you receive a direct message on Telegram from someone claiming to be OKX support, do not engage. OKX official communities do not proactively private-message users.

Sign 3: asking for passwords, verification codes, or transfers

Official support never asks for your account password, verification code, seed phrase, or private key, and never asks you to transfer funds to any address. If someone tells you to pay a "security deposit to unfreeze your account," block them.

Details you should not ignore

1. Anti-phishing code adds protection to email verification

After you set an anti-phishing code in the OKX security center, every official OKX email will include that code. Check it when you receive an email. Any "official email" without the code is fake.

2. Fake apps may hide in the App Store

The real OKX app developer is "OKX Inc." (iOS) or "OKEX MALTA LTD." The real OKX app is not available in the mainland China App Store, because official OKX is not listed there. If you find "OKX" in that App Store and download it, it is most likely fake. Android users should only download from the official website or Google Play. Do not use third-party app stores.

3. Deposit and withdrawal addresses can be changed by malware

If you install a fake Telegram or OKX app, your copy-and-paste activity may be intercepted by a Trojan virus. The withdrawal address you copy can be quietly replaced with the scammer's address. If someone sends an address and asks you to screenshot it for confirmation, that means they are also aware of this risk. You should do the same.

How to verify after receiving any contact

When you receive any link, email, phone call, or social media account claiming to be official OKX, copy the link, email address, or ID and check it on the official verification page. If the result shows "not verified," stop communicating immediately: do not click the link, do not enter your password, and do not transfer funds. If you have already interacted with it, such as clicking a link, contact official OKX support right away and check your device for anything unusual.
