What Countries' Identity Documents Are Supported for OKX KYC Verification?

You have already completed your OKX account registration — selecting your nationality and residential region is the first step of the KYC flow, and the system will show corresponding document options based on your selected location.
All identity documents you hold are within their valid period — expired documents will not pass verification, regardless of document type.
1. Check mainstream document types officially supported by OKX

Per official OKX Help Center instructions, the platform accepts three main categories of government-issued identity documents:
Passport
National Identity Card / Resident Identity Card
Driving License
All documents must meet the following requirements:
Officially issued by a government authority, not a temporary document or plain paper certification
Within valid period (not expired)
Include your full legal name, date of birth, issue date and expiry date
Has a clear, identifiable photo with no glare, and all four corners of the document are fully visible
Must be shot on site during the verification process, pre-saved existing photos are not allowed to upload
Completion standard: You can name the three widely accepted document types above, and confirm your held documents meet all the basic requirements listed here.
Common failure cause: Submitting a temporary ID card or plain paper certification. OKX explicitly does not accept these document types, and any such submission will be rejected automatically.
2. Actual available documents depend on your registered region
Goal: Confirm that the system will display specific eligible document options based on your selected nationality and residential region.
How to proceed:
The logic of the OKX verification page is: you first select your "Nationality" and "Country/Region of Residence", then the system will load all document types supported for that location.
Not all regions support all three mainstream document types. For example:
US users: Need to provide SSN (Social Security Number) plus a driving license or state-issued ID card
EU and Asian users: Usually need a passport or national ID card plus a valid proof of address
Chinese mainland users: Mainland resident identity cards have the highest pass rate, valid in-date passports are also supported
Completion standard: After you enter the [Identity Verification] page and finish selecting your nationality and residential region, the document options displayed on the page are exactly the options actually supported for your current location.
Verification requirements and required materials vary for users in different regions. If you change your country of residence, the document requirements shown on the verification page will also update accordingly.
3. Special cases: Unsupported regions and document types
Goal: Learn about document types and service regions that are not supported by OKX.
How to proceed:
Unsupported service regions:
OKX currently cannot provide services to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China. If you are not residing in Hong Kong at the moment but hold a valid government-issued identity document from an eligible location, you can still use OKX normally.
Unsupported document types:
Temporary driving license or temporary identity card
Plain paper identity certification documents
Expired documents of any type
Screenshots of identity documents (you must shoot the original document on site)
Completion standard: You can confirm that your current region is not on the unsupported region list, and the documents you hold do not belong to the ineligible types listed above.
Risk reminder: If you are sure your region supports your document type but your verification fails, do not resubmit more than 3 times — contact OKX customer support to confirm the specific issue before you try again.
4. Submit your verification after confirming your document is eligible
Goal: After confirming your document type is supported, complete the verification following the official process.
How to proceed:
Open the OKX App, click the user center icon on the top left corner → [Profile and Settings] → [Profile] → [Identity Verification].
Select your nationality and country/region of residence
Choose your document type from the options displayed by the system
Shoot the front and back side of your document as prompted (must be taken on site)
Complete the facial recognition step
Submit your application and wait for review
