What to Do If the Network Disconnects During OKX KYC Verification?
Don't refresh or retry immediately. When the network disconnects, the KYC step you were on will be interrupted. Information you already filled in may be saved, but photo uploads or facial recognition most likely did not complete. Wait for the network to recover, then check your verification status first. Based on the result, decide whether to continue or start over.
Step 1: Confirm Whether the Network Really Disconnected
Sometimes the app simply freezes or loads slowly, which looks like a "network disconnect."
Open another app on your phone (e.g., a browser) and load any webpage.
If it loads normally, the network is fine – the issue is with the app itself. Try restarting the OKX app.
If other apps also cannot load, the network truly disconnected.
When this step is complete: You have determined whether it is a network issue or just an app freeze.
Step 2: Check the Verification Status After the Network Recovers
Once reconnected, don't rush to resubmit – your submission may have already gone through, but the page just hasn't refreshed.
Return to the OKX app homepage and go back to [User Center] - [Identity Verification].
Check the status at the top:
If it shows "Under Review" or "Submitted," it means the materials were uploaded successfully. Just wait for the review.
If it shows "Unverified" or "Verification Failed," the previous submission was interrupted and you need to start again.
When this step is complete: You have confirmed the current verification status and can decide the next step – wait or retry.
Step 3: If the Status is "Unverified" – Resubmit
Go back to the identity verification page and walk through the entire process again from the beginning. Network interruptions usually cause problems in these stages:
During photo upload: File transfer was cut off halfway, and the server did not receive the complete file.
During facial recognition: The recognition process requires a real-time network connection. A disconnection causes the liveness detection data to be lost.
When resubmitting, note the following:
Switch to a more stable network (e.g., from Wi-Fi to 4G/5G mobile data).
If the Wi-Fi signal is weak, move closer to the router.
Avoid peak network congestion times (such as evenings and weekends).
When this step is complete: You have finished the entire verification flow and the page displays "Under Review" or "Submitted."
Step 4: If the Status is "Under Review" – Stop and Wait for the Result
If the status already shows "Under Review," it means the materials were successfully submitted. Do nothing at this point and just wait for the review result.
OKX KYC review usually takes from a few minutes to a few hours. In complex cases, it may take up to 48 hours.
When this step is complete: After confirming the page status is "Under Review," exit the page and wait for a notification.
Step 5: Switch Devices When the Network is Unstable
If your current network environment is inherently unstable (e.g., public Wi-Fi, areas with weak signal), repeated disconnections will cause submission failures. Consider these alternatives:
Use mobile data (4G/5G) to complete the verification.
Switch to another device (another phone or tablet) and log into your account to continue.
The desktop website does not currently support facial recognition – verification must be done within the app.
When this step is complete: You have submitted the verification on a stable network and device.
Common Reasons for Failure
Repeatedly tapping "Resubmit" with a poor connection: Each retry triggers a new system request. If the network remains unstable, it will keep failing. Make sure the network is stable first, and do not tap repeatedly.
Frequently switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data: Switching networks during the verification process may break the session. Choose a stable network before you start submitting.
Risk Reminder
A disconnection does not affect a review that has already been submitted: As long as the page shows "Submitted" or "Under Review," a network disruption will not affect the review progress.
The app is the only channel that supports facial recognition. The website does not yet support it. Verification must be completed inside the app.
After the network recovers, check your verification status first. If it shows "Under Review," wait patiently for the review result – usually from a few minutes to a few hours. If it shows "Unverified" or "Verification Failed," switch to a stable network and resubmit. You can use referral code 24U2795 when signing up.
