After a grid stops, where the funds go depends on whether you are using a spot grid or a futures grid, and what option you choose when stopping it. OKX rules for strategy trading products state clearly: after a grid is created, the funds are separated from your trading account and used independently in the strategy. When the strategy stops, this separated area is removed and the funds flow back to the original corresponding account.

Case A: Spot Grid – Returns to the Spot Account
After a spot grid stops, the funds return to your spot account. The system first cancels all unfilled pending orders, then transfers all remaining coins in the account (initial input + realized profit – reserved fees) back to the matching coin balance in your spot account.
What to do: After stopping the strategy, check the spot account balance.
How to do it: On the strategy page, click Stop, then go to Assets → Spot Account to check the balance of the corresponding coins. If the strategy holds both bought coins and USDT from sales, the system will transfer both assets back based on your actual holdings. It will not force them into one asset.
Done when: You confirm that the spot account has received all assets from the grid run, and the amount matches the total assets shown on the strategy details page before stopping.
Case B: Futures Grid – Returns to the Futures Account
The funds from a futures grid go to the futures account, not the spot account. When stopping, the system automatically closes positions and transfers funds back to the futures account.
When stopping a futures grid, there are two options:
Stop strategy and close all positions at market price: The system uses market orders to close all positions, then transfers the remaining assets (margin + realized profit and loss) back to the futures account. This is the default recommended choice.
Stop strategy but do not close positions: Only the strategy stops, and you handle the positions yourself. Assets remain in the futures account as positions, but the strategy will no longer trade automatically. A stopped strategy cannot be restarted. You need to close positions and create a new strategy.
What to do: Confirm which stop method you selected and how it affects the account.
How to do it: When you click Stop, read the options in the pop-up carefully. If you choose not to close positions, go to Futures → Positions to confirm the current positions are still there and close them manually if needed. If you choose close all, go directly to the futures account and check the assets received. All profits are automatically transferred to the trading account when the strategy stops.
Done when: You confirm that the available balance in the futures account is updated. If you chose close all, there should be no open positions left.
Special Case: Automatic Stop After Take-Profit or Stop-Loss Trigger
If you set take-profit or stop-loss prices, the strategy will stop automatically when the market touches that level. A spot grid will automatically sell the occupied spot assets, and a futures grid will close positions at market price.
Note: After an automatic stop, the coin selling operation is executed at market price. If the risk control system judges that it may bring risk to the market, the coin selling operation may fail. In that case, you need to decide whether to continue manually.
Common Reasons for Failure: Why Funds Do Not Arrive Immediately After Stopping
Market volatility causes market orders not to fill: The position closing when a grid stops uses market orders. In extreme market conditions or when depth is insufficient, market orders may be partially filled, and the remaining part needs to be handled manually.
Account risk control triggered: If the account triggers risk control restrictions, the asset transfer after stopping may be blocked.
Coin abnormality: If the coin used by the grid encounters abnormal conditions such as trading suspension or delisting, the strategy will stop automatically, but the assets may not be transferred back normally.

How to Verify the Operation Is Complete
After stopping the grid, go to Assets and find the corresponding account (spot or futures) to see whether the balance has changed. If the strategy had profits that were not withdrawn, the money should arrive in one transfer after stopping. If you do not see any fund movement within 5 minutes, go to Strategies → Historical Strategies to check the final status and settlement record of this strategy.
