Short answer: it depends on which chain you plan to use for the transfer.

When you move assets from your OKX trading account to a Web3 wallet, the core rule is "the address follows the chain." Choose a network in your Web3 wallet first (such as BSC, Ethereum, or TRON), then copy that chain's receiving address. Assets on a chain must be received by an address on the same chain.
Step 1: Find the right chain address in your Web3 wallet
Put the OKX trading account aside for a moment. Open the OKX app, and go to Funds → Web3 Wallet at the bottom.
Tap Receive, then choose the coin you want to receive (for example, USDT). Here is the key step: the page will show a network list, and you are choosing an address on that chain.
If you select BSC (BNB Smart Chain), you will see a BSC address. If you select Ethereum (ERC20), you will see an Ethereum address. If you select TRON (TRC20), you will see a TRON address. The same coin usually has different addresses on different chains.
Done when: you clearly know which chain the copied address belongs to (for example, TRC20), and you confirm it before copying.
Step 2: Go back to OKX trading account to withdraw, and select the same network
After you get the wallet address, return to the OKX app and go to Assets → Withdraw → Withdraw crypto. Select the coin you want to transfer and paste the address you copied from your wallet.
Key action: after entering the address, the page will ask you to choose the withdrawal network. This must match the network you selected in your Web3 wallet. If you chose TRC20 in the wallet, choose TRC20 here. If you chose BSC in the wallet, choose BSC here.
If you have already linked your exchange account and Web3 wallet, you can select OKX Wallet directly as the withdrawal destination. The system will fill in the address and network automatically, so you do not need to copy and paste manually.
Done when: the withdrawal network shown on the page matches your wallet address network, and there is no "invalid address format" warning.
Step 3: Send a small test amount first
For the first transfer to this address, it is strongly recommended to send a small amount first, such as 10 USDT.
How to do it: enter a small amount on the withdrawal page → submit → wait for on-chain confirmation. Then open Web3 Wallet → Assets and check whether the balance has increased.
Done when: the small amount appears in the wallet and the balance has increased. Once confirmed, use the same steps to transfer the rest.
Common mistake: thinking "same coin" means "same address"
USDT on TRON is TRC20, while USDT on BSC is BEP20. The addresses can be completely different. The address belongs to the chain, not to the coin. If you switch chains, you must switch the address. Do not reuse the same one.
Risk warning: choosing the wrong network usually means losing funds
If the withdrawal network does not match the chain of your wallet address, your assets may be lost directly. On-chain transfers are irreversible, and customer support usually cannot recover them if you choose wrong. Before sending, double-check: is the chain you selected in the wallet when copying the address the same as the chain you selected on the exchange withdrawal page?

How to verify after withdrawing
After submitting the withdrawal, go to Withdrawal history and copy the TxID. Look it up on a block explorer. If the status is "Success" and the number of confirmations is enough but your wallet still does not show the funds, the wallet may not be synced. Pull down to refresh the assets page manually.
