The service provider is clearly stated as the contracting party in your service agreement. OKX automatically assigns the appropriate legal entity based on your registered place of residence. This entity determines which country's laws protect your account and the jurisdiction for dispute resolution.

Step 1: Check Your Service Agreement to Find the Operating Entity Name

What to do: Locate the version of the terms of service you accepted during registration and see which company is listed.

How to do it: Log in to the OKX official website, scroll to the bottom and click "Terms of Service". Based on your residence and registration time, the terms will clearly list the contracting entity:

  • European Economic Area residents: OKX Europe LTD (registered in Malta)

  • United States residents: OKX INC. (registered in Delaware, USA)

  • Australia residents: OKX Australia Pty Ltd / OKX Australia Financial Pty Ltd

  • Singapore residents (regulated activities): OKX SG Pte. Ltd.

  • Singapore residents (non-regulated activities): OKX Financial Pte. Ltd.

  • UAE residents: OKX Middle East Fintech FZE

  • Brazil residents: OKX Serviços Digitais Ltda.

  • El Salvador/Argentina residents: OKX Fintech, S.A. de C.V.

  • All other users: Aux Cayes FinTech Co. Ltd. (registered in Seychelles)

Completion standard: You can clearly state which of the above companies you have a contract with.

High Risk: If the entity you see in the terms is Aux Cayes FinTech Co. Ltd., it means you are under Seychelles law. Seychelles has a relatively lenient regulatory framework for cryptocurrency. If you have a dispute, the legal costs to defend your rights will be much higher than for users governed by EU or Singapore law. This doesn't mean OKX is unreliable, but you should be aware of which jurisdiction's contract you are signing.

Step 2: Check the "Service Entity" Field in Account Settings

What to do: Find the name of the entity currently providing services to you in the app or web version.

How to do it: Open the OKX app, tap the avatar in the top left corner → "Profile and Settings" → "Identity Verification". The top of the page will display your current country/region of residence and your KYC level. Although this page mainly shows the region, not the entity name, your country of residence corresponds one-to-one with the entity in the terms – if you see your residence as "Singapore", the service provider is OKX SG or OKX Financial; if it's a Seychelles category, it's Aux Cayes.

Completion standard: You can see your linked country/region on the identity verification page and match it with the entity name found in step 1.

Common failure reason: Many people think they can see the service provider name in "Profile", but the page only shows "Country/Region of Residence". The service entity name is not directly displayed on the account page; you must go back to the terms of service to find it. If you cannot find it here, it's safest to check the terms as in step 1.

Step 3: Check Product Availability Restrictions in Your Region

What to do: Confirm if the service terms for your region have any restrictions on features.

How to do it: In the terms of service page, find the section on "Eligibility and Prohibitions" or "Prohibited or Restricted Regions". It will list:

  • Whether your region is restricted from using certain products (such as futures trading unavailable in some areas)

  • Whether your region is on the restricted list (such as Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, etc., where services are completely unavailable)

Completion standard: You understand the range of products available in your region and whether any features are restricted.

High Risk: If you move and haven't updated your country of residence in the identity verification, your account may still be tied to the service entity of your previous region. This mismatch between KYC info and actual residence can cause account limitations or even freezing. After moving, it's best to update your address on the identity verification page promptly to trigger a KYC recheck.

Verification Method: Compare the entity name and region you found, then search "product availability" or "restricted regions list" in the Help Center to confirm that the functions you can use match local regulations. If you think you've been assigned the wrong entity, submit a request through the OKX App's customer support with a screenshot of your identity verification page and a screenshot of the entity in the terms, asking for verification.
