UNI is an ERC-20 token based on Ethereum. OKX processes UNI deposits via the Ethereum network (ERC20). Whichever network your UNI is on in your wallet, you must select the same network for the deposit — OKX currently supports receiving UNI primarily through the ERC20 network. Choosing the wrong network will almost certainly result in permanent loss of funds.

1. Complete KYC Verification on OKX

What to do: Make sure your OKX account has passed identity verification.

How to do it:

  1. Log in to the OKX App or website, go to [User Center] → [Identity Verification].

  2. Follow the instructions to submit your identity documents and complete standard identity verification. Deposit services are only available after KYC is completed.

How to know it is done: Your account shows "Verified" or "Standard Identity" status.

2. Get a UNI Deposit Address on OKX

What to do: Log in to OKX, navigate to the deposit page, and obtain a UNI deposit address.

How to do it:

  1. Log in to the OKX App or website, tap [Assets] → [Deposit].

  2. Search for "UNI".

  3. Select the network: OKX supports receiving UNI via the ERC20 network. The deposit page will display the currently available network options; the actual options shown shall prevail.

  4. Copy the generated deposit address (an Ethereum address starting with "0x").

How to know it is done: You have copied the OKX UNI deposit address and confirmed that the selected network is ERC20.

Prerequisite: KYC verification on OKX has been completed.

UNI is natively an ERC-20 standard token, so deposits can only go through the Ethereum mainnet. If your UNI is on other chains such as Polygon or BSC, you need to bridge it back to Ethereum first — you cannot send from other chains directly to OKX's ERC20 address. OKX has recently integrated the Unichain network (an Ethereum Layer-2 developed by the Uniswap team), but currently it supports ETH deposits, not UNI.

3. Initiate the Transfer from an External Wallet

What to do: Send UNI from your external wallet (e.g., MetaMask, imToken, Trust Wallet) to OKX.

How to do it:

  1. Open your external wallet, locate the UNI asset, and tap [Send] or [Transfer].

  2. Paste the UNI address you copied from OKX (starting with "0x") into the "Recipient address" field.

  3. Critical step: In the "Select network" section, you must choose [Ethereum] or [ERC20] — exactly matching the network you selected on OKX. If you choose Polygon or BSC instead, the funds will not arrive.

  4. Ensure your wallet has enough ETH to cover gas fees (Ethereum mainnet transactions consume ETH).

  5. Submit the transfer.

How to know it is done: The transaction has been submitted, and the wallet shows "Transaction broadcast" or "Pending confirmation".

Common reasons for failure:

  • Wrong network selected: OKX has ERC20 selected, but you selected BSC or Polygon in your wallet — funds are sent to a different network and cannot be credited automatically.

  • Insufficient gas fees: Your wallet does not have enough ETH to pay the transaction fee, causing the transaction to stall.

  • Incomplete address copy: UNI addresses are Ethereum addresses starting with 0x. After pasting, double-check the first and last few characters.

Risk reminder:

  • Network mismatch may cause asset loss: Sending tokens to a network not supported by the platform may result in permanent loss. Before proceeding, always make sure both sides use exactly the same network.

  • Ethereum gas fees can be high: ERC20 transfers require ETH, and gas fees fluctuate with network congestion. If your wallet's ETH balance is insufficient, the transfer cannot be processed.

4. Confirm the Deposit

What to do: Wait for blockchain confirmations and check your OKX account balance.

How to do it:

  1. Use the TxID to check the transaction status on Etherscan (etherscan.io). Confirmation time on Ethereum mainnet depends on gas fees and typically ranges from a few minutes to several tens of minutes.

  2. Log in to OKX, go to [Assets] → [Funding Account] or [Spot Account], and check whether the UNI balance has increased.

How to know it is done: The UNI balance in your OKX spot account has been updated.

How to confirm you followed the steps correctly?

Enter the TxID on Etherscan and verify that the transaction status is "Success". Then log in to OKX and check that the UNI balance has increased on the [Assets] page. For first-time operations, it is recommended to send a small test amount first, and once it arrives, transfer the rest. If the deposit does not appear after a long time, check whether the network you selected during the deposit matches the network used for the wallet transfer exactly — this is the most common sticking point for UNI deposits.
