To deposit TOSHI to OKX, simply use the Base network and send the tokens to the Base chain deposit address provided by OKX. TOSHI is a native Meme token on the Base chain, so the deposit network must be set to Base. Selecting the wrong chain will result in permanent loss of assets.

1. Pre-deposit Preparation: Confirm Your TOSHI is on Base

TOSHI is an ERC-20 token on the Base blockchain, inspired by Coinbase co-founder's cat, and is an iconic Meme coin in the Base ecosystem. Its contract address is deployed on Base.

Step 1: Check the network of the TOSHI in your wallet

  • What to do: Open the wallet where you hold TOSHI and check which network it's on.

  • How to do it:

    • If the network shows Base or Base Mainnet, your assets are correct and you can proceed.

    • If it shows Ethereum, BNB Chain or another network, you may have a similarly named imitation token. Do not deposit directly. Verify the contract address first.

  • When you're done: You have confirmed the network shown in your wallet is Base and can see your TOSHI balance.

Prerequisite: You must have completed identity verification (KYC) on OKX. Unverified accounts cannot deposit normally.

2. Generate a TOSHI Deposit Address on OKX

Step 2: Go to the deposit page and search for TOSHI

  • What to do: Open the OKX app or web version, go to the Assets page, and select Deposit.

  • How to do it:

    • App: Bottom "Assets" → "Deposit" → search "TOSHI".

    • Web: Top right "Assets" → "Deposit" → select "TOSHI".

  • When you're done: You are on the TOSHI deposit details page.

Step 3: Select Base as the deposit network (this is the most critical step)

  • What to do: In the network options, choose Base or Base Network.

  • How to do it: TOSHI is issued on the Base chain, so the network must be Base. After selecting, the page will generate a 0x address.

  • When you're done: You have copied the Base network TOSHI deposit address generated by OKX.

Warning: Do not select Ethereum (ERC20), BNB Smart Chain, or any other network. Tokens with the same name may exist on different chains. Always confirm that the contract address and network are correct before depositing. Depositing via the wrong chain will almost certainly result in lost assets.

3. Initiate the Transfer from Your Wallet

Step 4: Send the transaction from your wallet

  • What to do: Open the wallet holding TOSHI, select TOSHI, and tap "Send".

  • How to do it:

    1. Paste the OKX TOSHI deposit address you just copied.

    2. Make sure the network is Base.

    3. Enter the amount to transfer, submit the transaction, and pay the Base chain gas fee (denominated in ETH).

  • When you're done: The wallet shows the transaction has been broadcast and provides a transaction hash (TxID).

Step 5: Wait for the deposit to arrive

  • What to do: Wait for block confirmations on the Base chain.

  • How to do it: Base chain confirmations are usually fast, taking a few minutes. You can check the real-time status in OKX under "Assets" → "Deposit History".

  • When you're done: The TOSHI balance in your OKX account has increased.

Common Reasons for Failure

  1. Wrong network selected: This is the most serious and common mistake. TOSHI must use the Base network. Selecting ERC20 or any other network will cause loss of assets.

  2. Confusing tokens with the same name: Tokens named TOSHI may exist on different chains. Always verify the correct contract address and network before transacting.

Risk reminder:

  • Assets sent to the wrong chain are extremely difficult to recover: Make sure the sending network in your wallet and the network shown on the OKX deposit page are both Base.

  • Test with a small amount first: For your first deposit, send a small amount of TOSHI to test the process. Once it arrives, you can transfer a larger sum.

How to confirm the deposit was successful?

Open the OKX app, go to "Assets" → "Funding Account", and check if your TOSHI balance has increased. Then go to "Deposit History" and verify the status is "Completed". If it hasn't arrived after 30 minutes, contact OKX support with your TxID.
