Binance AI Pro can be used for monitoring only without triggering trades. However, there is no single master switch for "no trading." Instead, it depends on the type of workflow you deploy and whether you transfer funds into the strategy sub-account. The simplest and most reliable approach is: only use non-trading features such as conversation analysis, market monitoring, and subscription alerts. Do not approve any live trading strategies, and do not transfer funds to the AI strategy sub-account. As long as you do not complete the two steps of "approving deployment + manually funding," AI Pro has no real funds to use.

First, Clarify: Do You Want "Analysis Monitoring" or "Strategy Monitoring"?
The official Binance AI Pro FAQ clearly states that you can use it for market analysis, creating or viewing strategies without deploying live trading. However, "monitoring" has two different meanings in AI Pro, and the operational paths and risks are completely different.
The first type is conversational market monitoring and alerts. You ask AI Pro in a conversation to watch the price of a specific coin, a certain indicator, or an event, and set up reminders or signals. This type of function does not involve placing orders and does not consume strategy sub-account funds. Officially, daily reports, market monitoring, subscription alerts, and signals are listed as supported capabilities beyond trading strategies. If you just want AI to help you watch the market and notify you of changes, this method is sufficient.
The second type is the monitoring module within a strategy workflow. When you build a strategy, the workflow may include steps like market judgment and conditional triggers, but whether the final step executes an order depends on the strategy itself and whether you approve live deployment. A strategy can remain in paper trading or draft status without going live. Officially, paper trading uses simulated funds, and live trading requires you to review the settings again and approve deployment; settings are not automatically carried over.
The judgment standard is simple: Is there a strategy sub-account in your AI Pro interface that has real USDC or other assets injected into it, and is that strategy in a running state? If yes, it may trade; if no, it is just an analysis tool.
Operational Boundaries to Ensure No Trading
According to Binance's official explanation of the AI Pro security architecture, live strategies run in isolated sub-accounts, and funds can only be transferred manually by you. AI Pro cannot automatically transfer funds from your main account. This means the core action to prevent trading is simply not funding the account.
Specifically, you need to maintain two boundaries:
Do not approve live deployment. When you use natural language to have AI Pro generate a strategy, the system will offer a paper trading option. Paper trading uses virtual funds and does not touch real assets. Only after you review the strategy, approve live deployment, and manually transfer funds to the dedicated strategy sub-account will the strategy run with real money. If you only view strategies and do paper tests without clicking approve or transferring funds, the strategy will not go live.
Do not transfer any assets to the AI strategy sub-account. Even if you accidentally click some confirmations, as long as the sub-account balance is zero, the strategy cannot execute real trades. Binance announcements clearly state that each live strategy runs in a dedicated sub-account, isolated from the main account, and funds can only be transferred by you. Keeping funds in your main account or spot account and not moving them into the AI strategy sub-account is the final physical barrier against accidental trading.
Additionally, the AI Pro API Key itself does not have withdrawal or transfer permissions. This is a platform-level security design. It prevents funds from being moved out, but it does not prevent a strategy from placing orders within a sub-account you have already funded. Therefore, not funding remains the more direct guarantee of "no trading."
A Common Point of Confusion: Permission Settings Are Not a Trading Switch
Some content online mentions API permission management for AI Pro, saying that by default it only has read permissions and that you need to enable spot or futures trading permissions for AI to place orders. This description may come from third parties or an earlier version and should not be your sole basis for current operations.
A more reliable judgment comes from Binance's official explanation of the product logic: whether a strategy trades depends on whether you approve live deployment and fund the account. If you see permission or API management options in your AI Pro settings, you can check whether "trading" related permissions are turned off, but do not rely on this single switch alone. The truly decisive factor remains: no funds, no trading.
Result Confirmation: How to Verify It Is Indeed Not Trading
After setting up, verify in two places:
Check the AI strategy sub-account balance. In the AI Pro interface or Binance sub-account management, confirm that the asset balance of the strategy sub-account is zero or contains only simulated funds. If you see real assets, it means a previous transfer occurred, and you need to manually move them out.
Check the strategy status. Created strategies should be in draft, undeployed, or paper trading status, not "live running." Binance officially states that users can pause, adjust, or revoke strategy access permissions at any time. If you are unsure whether a strategy might trigger trading, the simplest action is to pause or delete it.
There is one more auxiliary observation point: if your AI Pro conversation history only contains analysis and alert interactions, with no operations like "approve deployment" or "confirm live," you can basically confirm it has not entered a trading state.
A Boundary Worth Noting
The product form of AI Pro evolved from Beta to the official version in 2026. Different accounts may see differences in interface, available features, and entry locations. Official announcements mention that Beta users and official version users can use both simultaneously, and Beta data can be migrated if chosen. If you find that the interface in your operation does not exactly match the description above, refer to the "strategy sub-account" status and fund balance shown on your AI Pro settings page, rather than the name or location of a specific button. The principle of not funding and not approving live deployment does not change with interface versions.
