How to Transfer Crypto from MetaMask Wallet to OKX?

Transferring tokens from MetaMask to OKX involves two steps: first, get a deposit address on OKX, then initiate the transfer in MetaMask. This is an on-chain transaction, and the network must match, otherwise your assets will be lost.

Prerequisites: 4 Things to Check Before Transferring

1. OKX account has completed KYC verification, otherwise deposits for certain coins may be restricted or not credited.

2. MetaMask wallet installed and working, ensure you've backed up the seed phrase or private key securely.

3. Confirm the coin and network: Both MetaMask and OKX support multiple blockchains (Ethereum mainnet, BNB Chain, Polygon, etc.). You must select the exact same network on both platforms; otherwise the deposit will not arrive and may be lost.

4. Sufficient gas fees in the wallet: Gas fees are paid in the native token of the respective network — ETH for Ethereum mainnet, BNB for BNB Chain. In addition to the amount you're transferring, you need extra tokens for gas.

Step 1: Get the Deposit Address on OKX

What you do: Generate your unique deposit address on OKX to receive tokens from MetaMask.

How to do it:

1. Open the OKX app or website, go to [Assets] → [Deposit] → [On-chain Deposit].

2. When the status shows "Pending", it means the transaction is being processed on-chain. Once the required number of block confirmations is met, the status will change to "Completed" and the funds will appear in your spot account.

3. Confirmation times vary by coin: ETH/ERC-20 tokens usually take 5–15 minutes, but may take longer during network congestion.

What counts as done: The token you transferred appears in your OKX spot account and the balance is updated.

Common Failure Reasons

1. Network mismatch — This is the most serious mistake. Ethereum mainnet, BNB Chain, Polygon, and other networks are not interoperable; choosing the wrong chain means your funds cannot be recovered.

2. Insufficient gas fees — Your wallet doesn't have the native token of the network you're using (you need ETH to send ETH, BNB to send USDT on BSC).

3. Address copied incorrectly — Even after copy-pasting, manually verify the first and last few characters of the address.

4. OKX account not KYC-verified — The deposit function for certain coins may be restricted.

If it hasn't arrived, go to OKX [Deposit History] to check the status: "Pending" means you should wait; if it says "Completed" but the balance hasn't changed, try refreshing the app or logging out and back in.

Once you have the TxID, go to the corresponding blockchain explorer (Etherscan for Ethereum, BscScan for BNB Chain) to check the transaction status.
