How to Transfer Crypto from Binance to OKX? Exchange Transfer Tutorial
Transferring crypto from Binance to OKX is done via on-chain transfer. The core operation consists of two steps: first, obtain a deposit address on OKX, then go to Binance to withdraw and paste that address. This is an on-chain transfer, not an internal transfer between exchanges. You must manually complete the process and select the correct corresponding network.
Prerequisite: Confirm Both Binance and OKX Accounts Have Passed KYC
Both accounts need to complete identity verification before you can use the deposit and withdrawal functions normally. If either account has not completed KYC, withdrawal or deposit features will be restricted.
You also need to confirm in advance: the coin you plan to transfer is supported for deposit on OKX. For example, under MiCA compliance requirements in the European region, USDT deposits are no longer supported on OKX's licensed entity. If you plan to transfer USDT, you will need to check which stablecoin types OKX currently supports (such as USDC or USDG), or choose another compliant coin.
Step 1: Generate a Deposit Address on OKX
What to do: Get the unique deposit address generated for you by the OKX platform to receive the funds transferred from Binance.
How to do it:
Open the OKX app or website, go to [Assets] → [Deposit] (On-chain Deposit).
Search for the coin you want to deposit (e.g., USDC, BTC, ETH).
Select the deposit network — this is the most critical step. The page will display a list of networks supported by that coin (e.g., ERC-20, TRC-20, Solana, etc.).
Copy the deposit address shown on the page. For certain coins (such as XRP, EOS), you also need to copy the Tag/Memo, otherwise the funds cannot be credited.
When is this step complete: You have saved the deposit address (and tag, if required) and made a note of which network you selected.
⚠️ Choosing the network is the watershed for fund security. If you select ERC-20 on OKX, then the Binance withdrawal must also be on ERC-20. A network mismatch will result in loss of funds.
Step 2: Initiate the Withdrawal on Binance
What to do: Withdraw the coins from your Binance account to the OKX deposit address you copied in Step 1.
How to do it:
Log in to Binance, go to [Wallet] → [Spot] → [Withdraw].
Select the coin you want to transfer.
Paste the OKX deposit address copied in Step 1.
Select the network — it must be exactly the same as the one you chose on OKX.
Enter the transfer amount and check the withdrawal fee. This fee is charged by Binance and differs between networks.
Complete the security verification (SMS/email/Google Authenticator) and submit the withdrawal request.
When is this step complete: The Binance page shows "Withdrawal Submitted" and you have obtained the transaction hash (TxID).
Step 3: Confirm the Deposit
What to do: Check on OKX whether the deposit has been successfully credited.
How to do it:
Open OKX [Assets] → [Deposit History].
When the transaction shows "Pending", it means it is being processed on-chain. Once the number of block confirmations meets OKX's requirement, the status will change to "Completed" and the funds will enter your spot wallet.
When is this step complete: The transferred coins appear in your OKX spot account and the balance has been updated.
Step 4 (Supplement for Large Transfers): Complying with the Travel Rule
What to do: If your transfer exceeds 1,000 EUR (or equivalent), you will need to provide additional information.
Rule: Under the EU Travel Rule, for single transfers exceeding 1,000 EUR, OKX will require you to confirm the source of the funds (private wallet or another exchange) and provide the sender's full name. The sender's name must match the KYC information on your OKX account.
When is this step complete: Fill in the required information as prompted by OKX, and the deposit process will proceed normally.
Common Reasons for Failure
Network mismatch — this is the most common and most costly mistake. Choosing a different chain results in direct loss of funds.
Missing Tag/Memo — coins like XRP and EOS require both the address and the tag/memo; otherwise, the deposit cannot be credited.
Transferred coin is not supported on OKX — for example, USDT can no longer be deposited to OKX in the European region. Always check the rules before transferring.
Withdrawal fee deducted from the transferred amount — you may think you are transferring 100 USDT, but the actual arrival may be only 99 USDT. Check the "Estimated to Arrive" figure when withdrawing.
Missing a character when pasting the address — after copying and pasting, it is recommended to manually double-check that the address is intact.
Risk Reminders
On-chain transfers are irreversible. Once submitted, the transaction cannot be cancelled unless the receiving platform can assist in recovering the funds.
If you are choosing an unfamiliar network to save on fees, do a small test first — transfer 1-5 USDT to confirm the address and network are correct, then send the larger amount.
Withdrawal fees from Binance are collected by Binance and deducted from the withdrawal amount, not charged separately, but the amount that arrives will be reduced accordingly.
How to Confirm You Have Completed the Operation Correctly
Open OKX [Assets] → [Spot Account], search for the coin you transferred — if the balance has increased, the transfer is complete.
If it hasn't arrived yet, open [Deposit History] and check the status: if "Pending", just keep waiting; if "Completed" but the balance hasn't changed, refresh the app or log out and log back in.
After getting the TxID, go to the corresponding blockchain explorer (e.g., Etherscan, TRONSCAN) to check the transaction status. If the on-chain confirmations have met the requirement but the funds haven't arrived on OKX after more than 30 minutes, go to the OKX [Help Center] and submit a feedback request, attaching the TxID and a screenshot of the deposit.
