How to Deposit FIL on OKX: Filecoin Funding Tutorial
There are three rules for FIL deposits you must memorize: choose the right network (Filecoin mainnet, not ERC20 or BEP20), fill in the correct address format (usually starting with 'f'), and ensure consistency between OKX and your wallet. Before you start, confirm the network on the OKX deposit page, then copy the address. When initiating the transfer from your wallet, select 'Filecoin Mainnet'.

1. Complete OKX Account KYC
What to do: Make sure your OKX account has completed identity verification.
How to do it:
Log in to the OKX App or website, go to [User Center] → [Identity Verification].
Follow the instructions to submit your ID documents and complete standard identity verification. Without KYC, you cannot use the deposit feature.
How to know it's done: Your account shows "Verified" or "Standard Identity Verification" status.
2. Get the FIL Deposit Address on OKX
What to do: Log in to OKX, go to the deposit page, get the FIL deposit address, and confirm the network.
How to do it:
Log in to the OKX App or website, click [Assets] → [Deposit] → [Deposit Crypto].
Search for "FIL".
Select network: You must choose Filecoin Mainnet (FIL-Filecoin). The OKX FIL deposit page will list the currently supported network options; the actual display may vary. If only Filecoin mainnet is shown, just select that.
The page will generate a deposit address, usually starting with "f" (Filecoin common address format f1). Click to copy.
How to know it's done: You have copied the OKX FIL deposit address, confirmed the address starts with "f", and confirmed the selected network is Filecoin mainnet.
Prerequisite: OKX KYC identity verification completed.
The Filecoin mainnet address format mainly has three types: f1 (common address, most commonly seen), f0 (miner address), f3 (miner address). OKX deposit addresses are usually in f1 format. Network misselection is the most common FIL deposit mistake — Filecoin has mainnet and testnet (Calibnet) that do not share assets. If you choose the testnet, funds will not arrive.
3. Initiate Transfer from External Wallet
What to do: Deposit FIL from your external wallet (e.g., Filfox Wallet, imToken, hardware wallet) to OKX.
How to do it:
Open your external wallet, find your FIL asset, click [Send] or [Transfer].
In the "Recipient address" field, paste the FIL address you copied from OKX (starting with "f").
Key step: In the "Select network" field, you must choose [Filecoin Mainnet] – exactly the same network you selected on OKX. Do not select "Testnet" (such as Calibnet).
Make sure your wallet has enough FIL to cover the gas fee. Filecoin network transfers require a small amount of FIL as miner fee; you can check the estimated gas fee range in the wallet, and it is recommended to choose a mid-range value to balance speed and cost.
Submit the transaction.
How to know it's done: The transaction is submitted, the wallet shows "Transaction broadcast" or "Pending", and you have obtained a TxID.
Common failure reasons:
Wrong network (most common): OKX selected Filecoin mainnet, but the wallet chose testnet – funds are sent to testnet and won't arrive.
Incorrect address format: OKX FIL address starts with "f". If the copied address starts with "0x", it means you accidentally selected a Filecoin EVM (FEVM) address or another network address. However, OKX also supports withdrawals to Filecoin EVM addresses; you must select "FIL-Filecoin" as the withdrawal network.
Insufficient gas fee: Not enough FIL in the wallet to pay the transaction fee, causing the transaction to stall.
Deposited to an ERC20 or BEP20 address: FIL has wrapped tokens on Ethereum and BSC; do not send mainnet FIL to those addresses.
Risk reminders:
Network matching is a hard requirement: OKX official has repeatedly emphasized that the coin and network must match exactly for a successful deposit. Choosing the wrong network may result in irretrievable assets.
Wrong address means assets cannot be recovered: Once a Filecoin address is entered incorrectly, the assets cannot be automatically retrieved. Always verify the address character by character before confirming.
Recommend a small test first: For the first attempt, transfer a small amount as a test. After it arrives, then transfer the remainder.
Understand the transaction fee: On-chain transfers require paying a gas fee, which may rise during network congestion. Confirm your wallet has sufficient balance before transferring.

4. Confirm Arrival
What to do: Wait for blockchain confirmations and check your OKX account balance.
How to do it:
Use the TxID to check the transaction status on a Filecoin block explorer (e.g., filfox.info). The Filecoin network generates a block approximately every 30 seconds. For small amounts, 6 confirmations (about 3 minutes) usually suffice for arrival; large amounts may require 100 confirmations (about 50 minutes).
Log in to OKX, go to [Assets] → [Funding Account] or [Spot Account], and check whether your FIL balance has increased.
How to know it's done: The FIL balance in your OKX spot account has been updated.
How to confirm that you have operated correctly?
Enter the TxID on a Filecoin block explorer and confirm that the transaction status is "Success" and the confirmation count is sufficient. Then log in to OKX and see the increased FIL balance on the [Assets] page. If the transaction is confirmed on-chain but has not arrived after more than 1 hour, check whether the network you selected for the deposit and the wallet transfer network are completely consistent – this is the most common reason for FIL deposits getting stuck. For the first operation, transfer a small test amount first and then the remaining after it arrives.
