Deposit failures rarely show the word "failed"; more often, they get stuck at "processing" or simply don't arrive. Below, we go through the most common causes so you can find where the problem lies.

Step 1: Identify the failure type

Deposit issues usually fall into three categories. First, figure out which one fits:

  • Type A: The on-chain transaction has been submitted, but OKX shows "Processing" or the funds haven't arrived

  • Type B: The sending platform says "Withdrawal failed" or the transaction was rejected

  • Type C: The chain shows "Success", but there is no record in your OKX wallet at all

Types A and C are the most common; Type B needs to be handled by the sending platform.

Done indicator: You know which type your situation falls into.

Step 2: Check on-chain status – the most reliable way

No matter which type, grab the transaction hash (TxID) first and check its status on the relevant blockchain explorer.

How to do it:

  1. Copy the TxID of this transfer from the sending platform

  2. Open the corresponding blockchain explorer (Tronscan for TRC20, Etherscan for ERC20, etc.)

  3. Paste the TxID and check the transaction status

Three possible statuses and what they mean:

  • On-chain shows "Success/Confirmed": The transfer is complete, the issue is on the OKX side – go to Step 3

  • On-chain shows "Pending/Unconfirmed": The network is still processing; wait, no action needed

  • On-chain shows "Fail/Failed": The transaction did not succeed; contact the sending platform, it's not an OKX issue

Done indicator: You can see a definitive status for this transaction on a blockchain explorer.

Step 3: Handle according to the on-chain status

Case A – On-chain successful but not credited to OKX

Check the following:

Is the correct network selected? This is the most common reason and also the hardest to recover from. The network selected on the OKX deposit page must match the one chosen on the sending side. For example, if you chose TRC20 on OKX but the sender used ERC20, the funds will not be credited automatically.

Is the Memo/Tag filled in correctly? Coins like XRP, EOS, and XLM require a Memo or Tag. Missing or incorrect memo means the platform can't identify who the deposit belongs to, and it won't be credited automatically.

Has the minimum deposit amount been met? Each coin has a minimum deposit requirement. Deposits below that limit will not be credited.

Is the deposit channel suspended? If the network has suspended deposits, confirmed on-chain assets are not lost; the platform will process the credit once the channel resumes.

If none of the above apply, contact customer support and provide the TxID.

Case B – On-chain pending for more than 1 hour

The gas fee may have been set too low, or the network is congested. You can wait or contact the sending platform to see if they can accelerate the transaction.

Case C – TxID not found on the blockchain

The transaction was not successfully broadcast. Contact the sending platform – it's not an OKX issue.

Risk reminder

  • Assets sent via a wrong network may not be recoverable: Depositing to an unsupported network can lead to permanent loss. Contact support as early as possible, don't wait.

  • The platform cannot intervene in wrong-address cases: If the address you entered is incorrect (not an address generated by OKX), the platform cannot help. You need to contact the recipient on your own.

  • Do not deposit to a smart contract address: Every coin has a dedicated deposit address; sending to a contract address will not result in a credit.

If you still haven't received your deposit, first go to [Assets] - [Deposit History] to confirm whether there is a record. If the transaction is confirmed on-chain but hasn't arrived after more than 2 hours, contact online support via the OKX app [Help Center], and have your TxID and deposit screenshot ready.
