If the lead trader closed a position but your copy trade did not move, the copy system likely hit a hard limit during execution. OKX copy trading is not a live mirror. It is a separate automated order system. If a condition is not met, your order may be skipped.

Below are the most likely causes, ordered from high to low probability.
Step 1: Check if your copy account has enough available funds
Closing copy trades does not require you to add more money, but if your account has no free funds or the margin is already fully used by other positions, the system may reject the action.
[Do this]: Make sure your copy trading account has enough available funds to cover the action.
[How to do it]: Open the OKX app, go to Trade - Futures or Spot, and check your available margin or available balance. If it is below the minimum order size for that pair (for example BTC-USDT usually needs about 2-3 USDT), copy trading may fail.
[Done when]: You confirm the available balance is above 0 and above the minimum order size for that trading pair.
Step 2: Check if price protection or slippage limit was triggered
This is the most confusing cause. To prevent your fill price from being too far from the lead trader's price, the system sets a price difference threshold, usually around 0.5%. If the market moves too fast and your fill price goes beyond that range, the copy order may be cancelled instead of being forced through.
[Do this]: Check whether this stuck copy order was rejected because of price deviation.
[How to do it]: Go to My Copy Trades - Copy Trade History, find the order, and open the details. If it shows "price protection triggered" or "slippage limit exceeded", that is the cause. You can go to copy trade settings and adjust the slippage tolerance to a wider level.
[Done when]: You confirm the exact failure reason for that record and adjust the setting as suggested.
Step 3: Check if you exceeded the maximum copy amount
You set a maximum copy amount for each lead trader. If the total value of all current copy positions with that trader has reached this limit, new copy actions will not trigger.
[Do this]: Check whether the total position value you are copying from that trader has reached your set limit.
[How to do it]: Go to My Copy Trades, find the trader, and check the used amount or total copy amount. If it is close to or equal to your limit, the close copy may not move because the system has not released the old position quota when updating total position value.
[Done when]: You confirm the current total amount usage and know whether you need to raise the limit.
Step 4: Check if the trader made a partial close or full close
Sometimes your account did not stay still; it only moved a little. If the lead trader closed a specific batch order, such as the one with the highest floating profit, and your copy mode is "by ratio" or "by fixed amount", the order may be filtered out because the quantity is below the minimum limit.
[Do this]: Check the exact direction and size of the trader's action.
[How to do it]: Open the trader's lead trading page and check current positions and closed history. See whether this close was full or partial. If it was a partial close and the closed amount is below your minimum copy amount, the action will not be copied to your account.
[Done when]: You confirm the details of the trader's action and know whether your account should have executed it.
OKX copy trading has network delay and API rate limit mechanisms. After the lead trader's order is filled, the copy request must be routed. If the delay is over about 200ms, some nodes may already have a different price than the original order level, which can cause the copy order to miss the best price or even fail to follow.

How to verify after checking
After going through the steps above, open My Copy Trades - Copy Trade History, find the stuck order by time, and look at the status message. If it says "insufficient assets", transfer funds. If it says "price protection", adjust the slippage setting. If it says "limit exceeded", adjust the single copy amount or total copy amount limit.
