Stop and check what the page says about the restriction
Different prompts have different cooldown times. First figure out the limit type, then decide how long to wait.
Case A: The page says "SMS sending failed" – This is a short-term rate limit. It's triggered by requesting codes too many times in a short period. You need to wait about 2 hours before trying again. If you keep tapping "Resend" within those 2 hours, the timer resets each time.
Case B: The page says "verification code failed to send" (email channel) – This is also a rate limit, but the cooldown is shorter. Wait 1 hour, then you can try again.
Case C: You've entered the wrong verification code 6 times in a row within a short time – Your account will be temporarily locked. In this case, the wait is longer, and you may need to contact customer support to unlock it.

Backup channel: If you requested an SMS verification code but aren't receiving it, you can choose "Voice verification" on the OKX page to get the code via a phone call.

Common reasons for failure
Repeatedly clicking "Resend" during the restriction period refreshes the cooldown timer, dragging out your wait. The right way is to make one clean attempt after the wait period ends.
