If you can't get the verification code during OKX sign up, don't tap "Resend" repeatedly — first check your spam folder and mobile signal, as these two issues will block all follow-up attempts if not fixed.
Follow this order to troubleshoot
Step 1: Check spam folder and interception settings
The verification email for your registered email may be automatically moved to the spam or promotion folder by your email service provider. Search for "OKX" or "noreply" directly in the "Spam" or "Promotions" folder, mark it as "Not Spam" if you find it, so you can receive OKX emails normally next time.
Step 2: Add OKX official email to your whitelist
Log in to the web version of your email, add the following OKX email address to your whitelist or trusted contacts list:
This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Wait 10 minutes after finishing this, then request a new verification code again.
Step 3: Mobile not receiving SMS — check these items
- Restart your phone: Long-time no restart may affect signal reception
- Dual SIM dual standby: Try swapping the two SIM cards to different slots
- Check if your SMS inbox is full: Delete old messages to free up storage space
- Check interception apps: See if security software or system settings block or filter OKX SMS
- Check with your mobile carrier: Look up your SMS details on the carrier's official website to confirm if the message was sent successfully
Step 4: Switch to another channel — use voice verification code or alternative methods
If you still can't get the SMS, tap "Didn't receive anything?" on the OKX App to select the voice call verification option, you will get an incoming call that tells you the 6-digit verification code. Users in some regions can also receive the code via WhatsApp or Telegram.
Important Risk Note: If the page shows "SMS sending failed", you need to wait about 2 hours before trying again. Repeatedly tapping resend after consecutive failures will lead to a temporary lock, and if you enter wrong verification codes 6 times within 30 minutes, your account will be locked.
Step 5: Update your App version or switch to another platform
Old OKX App versions may have bugs that prevent verification codes from being sent. Tap the menu at the top left of the App home page, scroll to the bottom, enter "About OKX" to check for updates, then re-try after updating to the latest version. If you still can't get the code on App, switch to desktop browser or mobile web browser to register.
Common Reasons for Verification Code Failure
- You register with a Chinese mainland mobile number that has been ported to another carrier: Carrier data sync issues may cause missing verification codes, you need to contact OKX customer support to report this issue
- You entered the wrong email address during registration (for example, mistyping gmail as gmial), so the system never sent the verification email
- Your email storage is full or the spam folder is full, so new emails can not be delivered
Next Step If All Fixes Fail
If you still can't receive the verification code after trying all the above steps, prepare the following information to contact OKX online customer support:
- Your OKX App version number
- Screenshot of the page where you can't get the verification code (with the resend countdown shown)
- The email address or mobile number you used for registration that can't receive the code
- The exact time you tried to get the verification code
