Step 1: Switch to X Layer Mainnet in Your Wallet
If you use the OKX Web3 wallet, it supports X Layer natively. You usually don't need to add the network manually — it's directly available in the network switching list.
What to do: Open the network switch menu in your wallet and switch to X Layer.
How to do it:
On the OKX Wallet App home page, tap the network switch button at the top.
Find and select X Layer Mainnet from the list. If it's not listed, you may need to click "Add Network" and manually enter the official parameters:

Done when: The network name shown at the top of the wallet has changed to "X Layer Mainnet", and the address format has switched to an X Layer address (it might start with
0xorXKO— both point to the same account. TheXKOformat is unique to X Layer and is mainly used to improve readability).
Step 2: Withdraw OKB from the OKX Exchange to Your X Layer Address
The most direct way is to withdraw OKB directly from the OKX exchange and select X Layer as the network.
What to do: Initiate an OKB withdrawal on the OKX exchange and choose X Layer as the destination network.
How to do it:
Log in to the OKX Exchange app or website, go to [Assets] - [Withdraw].
Select the withdrawal currency OKB.
At the "Withdrawal network" step, be sure to choose
X Layer(do not select BSC, ERC20, or any other network).Paste the X Layer address you prepared in Step 1 (either
0xorXKOformat works).Enter the amount and follow the prompts to complete the withdrawal.
Done when: The withdrawal status shows "Completed" and you can see the OKB balance in your wallet under the X Layer network.
Step 3: Make Sure Your Wallet Has Enough OKB for Gas Fees
Any transfer or transaction on X Layer requires OKB as gas fees. If the OKB amount in your wallet is too low, later actions (like sending funds out of the wallet) will fail because of "Out of Gas".
What to do: Keep some OKB in your wallet — don't send out everything.
How to do it: On the X Layer network, the gas fee for a single transfer is very low, usually needing only a tiny amount of OKB (e.g., 0.0001 or even less). But for safety, we recommend transferring at least 0.01–0.05 OKB at a time, or withdrawing a bit more to leave enough "fuel" margin.
Done when: After the transfer, the OKB balance displayed in your wallet is > 0.001, enough to cover at least one on-chain interaction.
Choosing the wrong network is the easiest mistake when transferring OKB. If you accidentally select BSC or ERC20 network, the assets will be sent to an address on a different chain, never visible in the X Layer wallet, and the recovery process will be very troublesome. Also, OKX Wallet currently supports gas-free transfers of USDT and USDC on X Layer (sponsored by OKX), but this feature does not apply to OKB transfers right now. Transfers of OKB still require you to pay gas yourself.

Verification After the Transfer
Check the withdrawal record on the OKX exchange to confirm the status is "Completed". Then go back to your wallet, make sure the network is switched to X Layer Mainnet, and see if your OKB balance has increased. You can also enter your address on the X Layer block explorer to verify that the transaction has been confirmed on-chain.
