Bridge Transaction Successful on Source Chain: How to Check When Funds Don't Arrive on Destination Chain

 /

The source chain shows the transaction was successful, but the destination chain has no activity—this is the worst time to just wait or resubmit. Don't panic. Your funds are most likely not lost; they are just stuck in one of the intermediate steps of the cross-chain process. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot. It works better than waiting around.

Step 1: Get the Transaction Hash and Check the Real Status on a Block Explorer

[What to do]: Confirm the final status of the transaction on the source chain, instead of relying on the wallet interface.

[How to do it]: Open the wallet you used to send the transaction, find the transaction record, and copy the transaction hash (TxID). Then open the source chain block explorer (for example, use Etherscan if you transferred from Ethereum, or BscScan if you transferred from BSC), and paste the hash into the search bar.

[Completion standard]: You see the transaction status clearly marked as "Success" and it has enough block confirmations.

If the explorer shows "Success", it means the assets have left your address and departed from the source chain. In this case, the problem is in a later step. Continue to Step 2.

If the explorer shows "Pending" or "Waiting for confirmation", it means the transaction is still in the queue and miners have not packed it yet. This usually happens because the gas fee was set too low, so it gets pushed back when the network is congested. If it has been pending for more than 1 hour, you can try using the "speed up transaction" feature in your wallet to increase the gas fee, or simply keep waiting.

If the explorer shows "Failed", it means the transaction execution encountered an error, and the assets will usually be returned to the original address. Refresh your wallet balance, confirm the funds have been returned, and then initiate the transaction again.

Step 2: Source Chain Succeeded but Destination Chain Has Not Received Funds—Troubleshooting Directions

If Step 1 confirms the transaction status is "Success", but you still do not see the funds in the destination chain wallet, the problem is most likely in one of the following areas:

Checkpoint 1: Does the destination chain explorer show this asset?

Go to the block explorer for the destination chain (for example, use PolygonScan if you transferred to Polygon, or Arbiscan if you transferred to Arbitrum), enter your destination wallet address, and check the token list under that address. If you can see the token in the explorer, it means the assets have already arrived on the destination chain, but your wallet is not displaying them.

Completion standard: You can find the incoming transfer record for this token on the destination chain explorer.

This usually happens because the wallet has not added the token's contract address. You need to find the official contract address for this token on the destination chain, and manually "add token" or "import token" in your wallet.

If the destination chain explorer also shows nothing, it means the destination chain confirmation step of the cross-chain bridge has not been completed yet. Cross-chain operations require nodes on both the source chain and the destination chain to complete verification, which can take anywhere from several minutes to several hours.

Checkpoint 2: Did you select the wrong network type?

This is the most common place where problems occur. For example, if you transferred USDT from TP Wallet to an exchange, selected the ERC20 network, but copied a TRC20 deposit address—in this case, the assets are basically impossible to recover.

How to check: Confirm that the network you selected when initiating the transfer exactly matches the network supported by the receiving address.

Step 3: If Everything Above Is Normal, Contact Customer Support and Prepare Your Materials

If you have checked both steps above, the transaction shows success on the source chain, the destination chain explorer also shows nothing, and you have already waited more than 30 minutes to 1 hour, you can take further action as follows:

Contact the receiving platform's customer support with these materials: transaction hash (TxID), sending address and receiving address, transfer amount and time, and transfer screenshots. Customer support can use backend logs to help you locate whether the funds are stuck at a specific node.

Risk reminder: The gas fee for cross-chain operations usually needs to be paid in the native token of the destination chain (for example, transferring to Polygon requires MATIC for transaction fees). If the destination chain wallet does not have enough native tokens, the confirmation step of the cross-chain bridge may also fail.
