How to Enable the BNB Fee Discount on Binance
On Binance, the setting that lets you pay trading fees with BNB and receive a discount is tucked away in your account settings.
The world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, leading in security and liquidity.
New user benefit: Enjoy 20% off trading fees upon registration!
Once enabled, you instantly get a 25% fee discount on spot and margin trading, and a 10% discount on futures trading. But the discount is not active by default – you have to flip the switch yourself.
Step 1: Make Sure You Have Enough BNB in Your Wallet
What to do: Confirm you have BNB available to cover fees.
How to do it: Before you turn on the discount feature, check whether your spot or futures wallet holds enough BNB.
If your balance is too low, buy BNB on the market or transfer some in from another wallet.
Note: Staked BNB (e.g., in Earn or Locked products) cannot be used to pay fees. Only BNB in your "Available Balance" works.
How to know you're done: You have some BNB sitting in your spot or futures wallet (depending on where you trade most).
Step 2: Turn On the "Use BNB to Pay Fees" Switch
What to do: Find and enable this feature inside your account settings.
How to do it:
You can reach the switch in two ways:
A. Using the App
Open the Binance App and tap the profile icon (top left or top right).
In the menu, go to Fee Discount or Trading Fees.
Find the Use BNB to pay fees option and toggle the switch on (it should turn green).
B. Using the Website
Log in to the Binance website, click the profile icon at the top right, and select Account or Dashboard.
Go to the VIP or Fees page.
Locate the "Use BNB to pay fees and enjoy discounts" section and turn the switch on (it should turn green).
How to know you're done: The switch on the page shows "On" and the setting is active.
Step 3: Verify with a Small Trade
What to do: After set-up, confirm everything is working with a tiny trade.
How to do it: Place a small spot or futures order. Once it's filled, go to Order History or Trade History and check the fee details for that trade.
How to confirm success: If the fee was deducted in BNB and the amount is less than the standard rate (e.g., 25% less for spot), you've set it up correctly. If the fee is still taken in USDT or another coin, your BNB balance may be too low or the switch is still off.
Common Reasons It Doesn't Work
Insufficient BNB balance: This is the most common reason. Even with the switch on, if your wallet lacks enough BNB to pay the fee, the system will take the fee from your other assets and you won't get the discount.
You're using staked BNB: BNB locked in Earn or fixed-term products can't be used for fees. You need to redeem it first so it becomes "Available Balance."
Futures BNB is sitting in your spot wallet: If you trade futures, you must transfer BNB to your USDⓈ-M Futures Wallet before the system can use it for futures fees.
Risk Reminder
This discount is a platform policy and may change. Always refer to the official Binance announcements and the fee page for current rates.
BNB's price fluctuates. While you save on fees, remember that holding BNB carries its own risk if the price drops.

How to Confirm You've Done It Right
Once you've completed Step 2, just look at the fill details of your next order. If the fee is taken in BNB and the amount is smaller than what you'd pay in USDT, you've done it correctly. If you later run out of BNB, the discount will temporarily stop but will automatically kick back in after you top up your balance.
