Binance Withdrawal Address Format Error? How to Find the Network Prefix

The receiving address shown in your wallet starts with dym, but the Binance withdrawal page only accepts addresses starting with 0x. If they don't match, you get an error and your funds cannot be transferred out. The whole operation is stuck.

The root cause of this problem is that the same wallet account can have two different address formats under different blockchain standards. The Keplr wallet shows the native address format of the Cosmos ecosystem (starting with dym), but Binance's system only recognizes the EVM format address (starting with 0x). Once you find the relationship between the two formats, you can complete the withdrawal smoothly.

Step 1: Find the 0x Address Corresponding to the Native Address

Goal: Convert the address starting with dym in your Keplr wallet into the 0x format that Binance can recognize.

  1. Open the DYM (Dymension) block explorer. The website is dym.fyi.

  2. Copy the receiving address starting with dym that you see in your Keplr wallet and paste it into the search box of the block explorer.

  3. Click search. The page will directly show the corresponding address starting with 0x. The native address and the EVM address are actually two representations of the same account. After this step, you will get a string that starts with 0x and is 42 characters long.

Step 2: Use the Converted Address to Withdraw on Binance

Goal: Fill in the new address found on the block explorer into the Binance withdrawal page to complete the withdrawal.

  1. Go back to the Binance withdrawal page.

  2. Paste the address starting with 0x that you found on dym.fyi into the "Withdrawal Address" field.

  3. When choosing the withdrawal network, you must select the DYM or Dymension network. Do not select ERC20 or BEP20. Choosing the wrong network will cause an error. After this step, Binance will show "address format is correct" and will not pop up a "format error" message.

If the address you found starts with 0x but Binance still reports an error, double-check that the block explorer indeed shows the corresponding EVM address. Also make sure the withdrawal network is the DYM native network, not the EVM network of ETH or BSC.

How to verify after completing the operation: After submitting the withdrawal request, check your DYM balance in the Keplr wallet. The time for funds to arrive depends on the current transaction confirmation speed of the DYM network. Usually you can see the funds within a few minutes.
