How to Buy Crypto via Binance Wallet P2P? Payment, Network, and Arrival

When you buy crypto through P2P in Binance Wallet, the cryptocurrency you receive goes directly to your self-custody wallet address, not first to your exchange account and then withdrawn. After you complete the payment, the order status will show "Waiting for payment confirmation." After the seller releases the crypto, you need to click "Auto Withdraw" on the wallet page and wait for the on-chain transfer to complete before the coins truly reach your hands.

Enter P2P Buying from the Wallet

Open Binance Wallet, tap Receive, then select Buy with C2C (or "Buy with P2P"). Enter the amount of fiat currency you want to spend, choose the cryptocurrency you want to receive, and then select a payment method from the dropdown menu.

Before confirming the order, the page will show price, fees, network, and receiving address. The "network" here refers to the chain used when the cryptocurrency is transferred from the exchange's funding account to your self-custody wallet. If the USDT you buy uses BEP20 but your wallet only supports TRC20, the coins will not arrive. Checking the receiving address and network is the most important step before placing an order.

Payment: Transfer to the Seller, Not the Platform

After submitting the order, the platform will immediately lock the seller's equivalent cryptocurrency. You need to transfer fiat currency directly to the seller through bank transfer or another agreed third-party channel, based on the seller's payment details shown on the page.

After completing the transfer, click I have transferred, notify the seller. This step tells the platform and the seller "I have paid," but the platform does not automatically confirm. The seller needs to verify the arrival of funds and then manually release the crypto.

The payment time limit is set by the seller, usually between 15 minutes and 3 hours. If the payment is not made within the time limit, the order may be canceled. If you cancel three orders in one day, your buying function for that day will be suspended.

After the Seller Releases the Crypto, There Is One More Step: "Auto Withdraw"

After the seller confirms receipt of the fiat currency, they will release the locked cryptocurrency. At this point, the coins enter your funding account, not your self-custody wallet yet. The page will prompt you to withdraw to your Binance wallet. Click Auto Withdraw, and the system will initiate an on-chain transfer.

On-chain transfers require waiting for block confirmations. The specific time depends on the network you selected and the current on-chain congestion. The order status on the wallet page will change from "Waiting for payment confirmation" to "Completed," and only then are the coins truly in your self-custody address.

Where to Look When Problems Occur

If you have already paid but the order has not been completed for a long time, first confirm whether the payment was truly successful on the payment channel side. If the seller has not released the crypto, you can click Remind the other party or contact the seller through Chat. If it is still unresolved, initiate an Appeal, and Binance customer service will step in. Keep your payment proof, as you will need to provide it during the appeal.

In the case of choosing the wrong network or entering the wrong address, once the on-chain transaction is confirmed, it cannot be reversed. Binance cannot help you recover assets sent to an incorrect address. Checking the network and receiving address before placing an order is the only action that can prevent this type of loss.
