VIP Loan is not designed for ordinary users. Its entry requirements and structure make it suitable for only one type of user: accounts that have already reached Binance VIP level, need to borrow more than $500,000, and can continuously monitor LTV. If you only need tens of thousands of dollars in working capital, Binance Flexible Loan or using a margin account directly is more appropriate.

Credit: First Look at Entry Requirements, Then LTV
The first entry requirement for VIP Loan is that the first order amount must be no less than $500,000 or equivalent assets. This is not a suggested amount; it is a hard requirement. If you are not a VIP user, you also need to contact a VIP manager first and submit your demand details and Binance UID.
The core credit parameter is LTV, the loan-to-value ratio. VIP Loan LTV is divided into three levels:
| Parameter | Value | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Initial LTV | 72% | Initial upper limit of loan to collateral value |
| Margin call LTV | 77% | Level that triggers a warning |
| Liquidation LTV | 91% | Level that triggers forced liquidation |
These three levels are more relaxed than ordinary Flexible Loan. Flexible Loan typically has a margin call LTV of 85% and a liquidation LTV of 91%. VIP Loan pulls the warning line from 85% down to 77%, meaning that in the range where LTV rises from 72% to 91%, you have a longer buffer to add collateral or repay.
But the 72% initial LTV is itself a constraint. If you want to borrow $500,000, you need to pledge at least about $694,000 in collateral. This is not a product for borrowing right at the edge of your available collateral.
Collateral: 600+ Assets, but Only Designated Tokens Count Toward LTV
VIP Loan supports more than 600 tokens as borrowable assets and collateral assets. But there is a key restriction: only assets designated as collateral tokens will count toward LTV calculation. If you put a coin that is not on the collateral token list in your spot account, it will not be counted as security.
VIP Loan collateral stays in your spot account, rather than being locked in an earn account as with Flexible Loan. This means that as long as LTV is below the margin call level, you can continue trading those collateral assets in the spot market. This is the biggest difference in user experience between VIP Loan and ordinary collateralized borrowing: you do not need to hand over your assets to borrow money.
If the collateral is a Simple Earn flexible asset, it can also continue to earn APR rewards.
Flexibility in Borrowing and Repayment
VIP Loan supports both fixed rate and flexible rate modes, with no penalty for early repayment. Flexible rate interest is calculated hourly, while fixed rate interest is calculated daily. Interest is updated between 00:00 and 01:00 UTC every day.
In April 2026, VIP Loan integrated the Fixed Rate Loan market. Users can directly borrow Fixed Rate Loan orders from the VIP Loan page, supporting batch borrowing and multiple collateral assets. Fixed rate interest is calculated upfront and deducted at disbursement. This is different from the hourly accrual of flexible rate interest and should be confirmed clearly in advance.
Borrowed funds can be used for any purpose: spot, margin, futures trading, subscribing to earn products, or direct withdrawal.
Exit: Liquidation Boundary and Fees
When LTV reaches or exceeds 91%, forced liquidation is triggered. VIP Loan has a feature that ordinary products do not have: Delayed Liquidation. After the liquidation LTV is triggered, the system may not execute immediately but may give you a processing window. However, the official FAQ does not give a uniform value for the specific length and conditions of this window. You need to confirm with your VIP manager before actual operation.
When liquidation occurs, a 2% liquidation fee is charged. This fee is deducted directly from the collateral.
If you exit voluntarily by repaying, you only need to repay the borrowed principal and accumulated interest. There is no penalty for early repayment. The interest calculation cutoff time is consistent with your actual repayment time.
An Easily Overlooked Conflict
VIP Loan and Institutional Loan cannot be used at the same time. If a main account or any of its sub-accounts has already been used as a collateral account for Institutional Loan, the same main account and sub-accounts cannot be used as collateral accounts for VIP Loan. If you are running Institutional Loan and VIP Loan processes at the same time, you need to first confirm whether the account status conflicts.
Who Should Use It, and Who Should Avoid It
VIP Loan is suitable for: Binance VIP users with borrowing needs above $500,000 who want collateral to remain in their spot account for continued trading and have the ability to actively monitor LTV. Its core advantage is not a low interest rate, but the capital efficiency of collateral—you do not need to lock assets in a separate pledge account.
If your borrowing amount is below $500,000, this product is closed to you. Flexible Loan usually has an initial LTV of 65%, with a much lower entry threshold. Although the LTV is tighter, it is suitable for small borrowing needs.
If you are not used to monitoring LTV, the risk of VIP Loan is real. Although its margin call line at 77% is earlier than Flexible Loan at 85%, giving more warning space, once liquidation is triggered, the process is irreversible. Delayed liquidation is a buffer, not a guarantee.
