This process involves reading vast amounts of historical data and converting formats, similar to how a bank statement is generated—you see a list of transactions, but behind the scenes, the system is "assembling" a file from its databases.
Prerequisite: First, figure out which kind of report you want to generate
Binance offers different types of reports, and the waiting times are not all the same:
Transaction History: Usually takes some time to generate, especially when the data covers a long time span.
Tax Report: Explicitly states "may take up to 24 hours to generate."
Account Statement: If you need an officially stamped document, it may take 3–7 business days.
Confirm which type you need, then estimate the waiting time accordingly.
Step 1: Check whether your report really needs 24 hours
What to do: Distinguish between "instant generation" and "queued generation."
How to do it:
Case A – Transaction data within 6 months You can export records from the trading page for the last 6 months. This type of data can be obtained immediately—no waiting needed. Each export is capped at 10,000 records.
Case B – Data older than 6 months or a full tax report If you choose "All Time" or a custom multi-year range, the system needs some time to generate the report. Tax reports, in particular, come with a notice that they may take up to 24 hours.
When is this step complete: You have determined whether your report type and selected time range fall into an instant or queued category.
Step 2: Understand why waiting is necessary
What to do: Get to know the reasons behind the waiting time.
Reason 1: Large data volume takes time to process As the world's largest crypto exchange by trading volume, Binance faces extremely high system loads. When you request a report covering several years of transactions, the system must retrieve, organize, and format all your trading records from massive databases. Generating such a report takes time.
Reason 2: System load and queuing mechanism All users can generate reports, and the platform limits the number of reports you can create per month (15–40/month). Generation tasks use queue processing—your request waits in line. Once the report is ready, you'll receive an SMS or email notification.
Reason 3: Different reports have different complexities A tax report is more complex than a simple transaction record—it needs to calculate realized profit/loss, cost basis, etc., all of which require backend data processing.
When is this step complete: You understand that the 24-hour wait isn't a deliberate delay but the time needed for system queuing and computation.
Step 3: Mind the validity period after the report is generated
What to do: Download the report promptly once it's ready.
How to do it:
You will receive a notification when the report has been generated.
The download link is valid for only 7 days. After that, you'll need to regenerate the report.
When is this step complete: The report is downloaded to your device and saved in a place you can easily find.
Common reasons for failure
Selected time range exceeds the limit: A single report can cover at most 12 months of data. If you need a longer period, you must generate reports in segments.
Monthly generation quota exceeded: You can only generate a limited number of reports per month. Once you hit the limit, you must wait until the next month.
Report generation failed: During peak times or high system load, the process may get stuck. The most common issue is that generation fails halfway through; you'll need to resubmit the request.
Risk Reminders
If the system experiences high load during report generation, the waiting time may exceed 24 hours. The platform has experienced data delays during peak trading periods due to load issues.
The download link is valid for only 7 days. Be sure to save the report promptly after generation; otherwise, you'll need to queue again.
The report contains your complete transaction records and wallet address information. Keep it securely stored after downloading.

How to confirm that your report has been generated successfully
After submitting the generation request, go to the [Export History] page and check the status bar:
If it shows "Generating" → still being processed, keep waiting.
If it shows "Ready" → you can download it now.
If the status remains "Generating" for more than 24 hours and you haven't received any notification, try canceling and resubmitting the request—it may have gotten stuck in the system queue. If it still doesn't work after several attempts, contact Binance customer support to check if there is a data issue.
