How to Fill in Country/Region and International Area Code When US Users Register on Binance?

US users cannot register on Binance's international site (Binance.com). Since 2024, Binance no longer provides services to US residents. US users must use the independently operated Binance.US platform (Binance.US). If you try to register on Binance.com and select "United States", the system will display a "service unavailable" message.

1. Confirm If Your Identity Falls Under the US Restricted Category

Before filling in any information, first check whether you belong to the category of US users restricted from registering on the international Binance platform. Review the following situations:

  • Situation A: You are a US citizen or hold a US green card and live within the United States. You cannot register on Binance.com. The platform enforces strict KYC rules and no longer serves US users. Selecting the United States on the registration page will result in immediate blocking.

  • Situation B: You hold a US visa but are not a resident, and you are temporarily in the United States. You also cannot register on Binance.com. The system will trigger restrictions when it detects a US IP address or a US address on your KYC documents.

  • Situation C: You are not a US user, but you downloaded the app using a US-region Apple ID. The app you obtained might be Binance.US, not the international Binance.com app. The international version must be downloaded using a non-US Apple ID.

If you confirm that you fall within the US restricted scope, do not attempt to register on Binance.com. This is a long-term compliance policy, not a temporary glitch.

2. If You Are a Legitimate US User: Use Binance.US

Complete registration through the Binance.US platform, the compliant alternative for US users. Here are the steps:

  • Visit binance.us or download the Binance.US app.

  • Binance.US provides services in most US states, but some states (such as New York, Texas, etc.) may have additional restrictions.

  • The registration process is similar to the international site, but you must submit identity documents that comply with US regulatory requirements.

  • Note: The products and cryptocurrencies offered on Binance.US differ from the international platform; the number of available coins and features is relatively limited.

After completing these steps, you need to confirm whether your state supports the service, assuming you hold valid US identity documents.

3. If You Are Not a US User but Mistakenly Selected the US Option

If the system shows "region not supported", your IP may have been incorrectly identified as located in the US. Try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Check your current network environment and confirm that your connection node is not in the United States.

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies, then revisit Binance.com in incognito mode.

  • Ensure the country/region you select during registration matches your actual place of residence, and that your subsequent KYC documents can be verified against that information.

Common reasons for failure: A VPN node automatically switched to the United States – switch to a node in a supported region. The browser cached old region information – use incognito mode or clear the cache and try again.

Risk Warning

  • Attempting to bypass restrictions by forging identity information to register on the international Binance platform will trigger risk controls and lead to account freezing. Once KYC authenticity verification fails, an appeal will not be possible.

  • Do not use another person's non-US documents to complete KYC. The platform uses facial recognition and liveness detection; impersonation will be identified and recorded.
