Migrating a Website into a Binance Mini Program: Adaptation, Review, and Launch

The easiest way to bring an existing website into a Binance Mini Program is to use the official WebView template. You do not need to rewrite your code. Just fill in your H5 link, upload it, and submit it for review. The trade-off is that you lose a deeply native experience. The page is still essentially your website, just wrapped inside the Mini Program container. If you want smooth interactions and access to Binance native capabilities such as push notifications or deep payment integration, you must rebuild using the Mini Program framework.

First, Check If You Are Eligible to Submit for Review

No matter which path you choose, you must have a working Merchant Workspace before you can submit anything for review. The Binance Mini Program Management Platform (MPP) is not open to the public. Only approved users can access it.

You can apply for a workspace at developers.binance.com. After registering and filling in your business information, you will get a 30-day trial workspace. You can start developing and uploading immediately. However, after the trial period ends, you must complete KYB (business verification) to continue using it. You need to prepare documents such as the front and back of the applicant's or workspace admin's ID, the ID of the company's ultimate beneficial owner, the company registration certificate, and an operating license if applicable.

If you have already completed business verification for Binance or Binance Pay before, registering with the same business account can automatically bring in your information and save you from filling it in again. Do not invest heavily in deep development before KYB is completed. Once the trial period ends, the workspace functions will be disabled, and uploaded versions cannot continue through the review process.

WebView Template: The Shortest Path to Wrap Your Existing Website

This is the most direct way to "migrate" your site. After creating an app in MPP, go to the app details page, choose Upload, and then select "Use a template". Fill in the version number, your H5 app link, and a description, then submit.

After submission, it enters review. Once approved, your website appears as a Mini Program inside the Binance App. One common point where people get stuck is this: if your H5 page needs to redirect to other domains such as payment callbacks or third-party logins, those domains must be added to the WebView business domain whitelist in advance. The official documentation clearly mentions this step, but domains not on the whitelist will cause page loading failures or broken features.

When is the WebView approach a good fit? Your website is already a fully functional H5 app and does not depend on Binance native capabilities such as calling Binance user openid, sending template messages, or using deep Binance Pay integration. If you just want Binance users to be able to open your website, this is the lowest-cost option. But if you expect it to have Mini Program-level loading speed and interaction feedback, you will be disappointed. WebView performance depends on your web page itself and falls short of a native Mini Program.

Native Development Path: Building with DevTools and CLI

If WebView is not enough, you need to build or adapt from scratch using the Binance Mini Program framework. The toolchain has two parts: Binance DevTools, a graphical IDE, and the bmp CLI, a command-line tool.

Instructions for downloading and logging into DevTools are in the Quick Start documentation. After logging in with your Binance account, you can create projects, compile previews, and generate preview QR codes. Scanning the code with the Binance App lets you see the result on a real device. But note: the default AppID in a DevTools project cannot be used for official release. You need to create an app in MPP first, get the official AppID, and replace it before you can upload a version.

The CLI is better for teams that already have some engineering setup. bmp init creates a new project, bmp bootstrap adds Mini Program support to an existing React project, and bmp build generates an uploadable build artifact. After building, upload it to the version management backend in MPP through DevTools.

What Can Actually Block You During Review

The Mini Program audit rules list many items, but for the "website migration" scenario, the following categories are most likely to trigger rejection:

Description does not match functionality. The audit rules require that core features be described accurately, with no false descriptions, vague wording, or content unrelated to the Mini Program. If you simply copy your website title into the Mini Program name and description without clearly explaining what users can do after opening it in the Binance App, rejection is likely.

Non-compliant icons and logos. The developer logo must be 144×144 pixels, the Mini Program icon 96×96 pixels, and the core graphic should be 72×72. Neither may contain QR codes, include content that encourages downloading other platforms, or be confused with the visual theme of existing Binance products. If your website icon is a marketing image with a QR code, you need to redesign it.

Missing WebView domain whitelist entries. Mentioned above, but worth stressing again: if the review finds incomplete page loading or broken redirects, it is likely because business domains were not configured in advance.

Content involving transaction disputes or false advertising. The operation rules explicitly prohibit fake red packets, fake promotions, and impersonating Binance services. If your website has cashback or referral reward content, make sure the wording is truthful and does not push users toward actions unrelated to the Mini Program's core function.

Compatibility Checks Before Launch

The Binance App's Mini Program loading logic involves version compatibility. There is an official binding mechanism between SDK versions and App versions: within the same major SDK version, backward compatibility is maintained, and the App loads the latest Mini Program version under that major version. This mechanism applies starting from Binance App version 2.36.0.

This means that if you develop with newer SDK features but users are on an older Binance App version, they may load a compatibility version you published for the older SDK, or features may behave inconsistently. Before submitting for review, test on real devices using at least two different Binance App versions using the QR code generated by DevTools, not just in the simulator.

Definition of Done

After the Mini Program passes review, its status changes to published, and users inside the Binance App can find and open it through search. But this does not mean the migration task is completely finished. With the WebView approach, you need to continuously monitor how your H5 page behaves inside the Mini Program container. Payment callbacks, login state persistence, and file uploads are especially important because these flows depend on domain redirects and permissions, and their behavior inside WebView may differ from a standalone browser. With the native approach, every version update must go through review again. Version management is handled in the Version Management panel in MPP.
