After you tap "Terminate", your funds do not disappear. They follow a fixed path, but the destination depends on whether you closed a spot grid or a futures grid.

Where funds go after termination: two grids, two destinations

First, check whether you are using a spot grid or a futures grid, because the destination account is different.

Case A: Spot grid

After termination, the system transfers all remaining locked funds (initial investment + realized profit – reserved fees) back to your Spot account within about 30 seconds.

  • What to do: After termination, go to your Spot account and check the balance.

  • How to do it: Open the Binance app, switch to the Spot account, and see if the balance increased. If there are still open orders in the grid, the system cancels them first and then settles the remaining assets.

  • Done when: You see a balance change record for the relevant asset in your Spot account, and the amount matches the total grid assets before termination.

Spot grid funds are kept separately in a "Trading Bot account" and are not mixed with your Spot account. When you stop the grid, the system transfers them automatically. You do not need to do it manually.

Case B: Futures grid

Funds from a futures grid go back to your Futures account, not your Spot account. After termination, the system automatically calculates the transferable assets (including realized PnL and remaining margin) and transfers them back to your USDⓈ-M or COIN-M Futures account.

  • What to do: After termination, go to your Futures account and check the balance.

  • How to do it: Open the Binance app, switch to the Futures account, and see if the available balance increased. The futures grid termination logic is similar to the spot grid, but the underlying assets are contract positions, not coins bought and sold in the spot market.

  • Done when: You see a balance change for the corresponding asset in your Futures account, and the amount matches the total grid equity before termination.

"Hidden fees" that may be deducted at termination

Not all money comes back exactly as it was. When you stop a grid, the system settles a few charges:

  1. Reserved trading fees: The fee balance set aside while the grid runs. The system refunds any unused part and deducts any shortfall.

  2. Funding fees: Funding fees generated while a futures grid runs are included in the final profit or loss and settled at termination.

  3. Slippage loss on unfilled orders: At termination, remaining positions are closed with market orders. If there is not enough market liquidity, the fill price may differ from the current market price, causing slippage loss.

Among these, funding fees are specific to futures grids. Spot grids do not have this charge. Many people find the balance is smaller after stopping, usually because these fees were deducted.

Common reasons funds are delayed after stopping a grid

If funds have not arrived a few minutes after termination, check these situations:

  1. High market volatility: Extreme market conditions can delay system processing. Binance's official documentation notes that sharp market moves may delay grid termination and fund transfers.

  2. Positions not fully closed: If there are still unfilled orders or open positions when you stop the grid, the system needs to cancel orders and close positions first. This takes time. In some cases, you may need to manually handle the remaining positions.

  3. Account is in liquidation or risk-control status: If the futures account hits the liquidation line, or the account is frozen by risk control, the transfer after termination may be stuck. Contact customer support for help.

How to verify the operation is complete

After stopping the grid, go to the transaction history of the corresponding account (Spot history for the Spot account, Futures history for the Futures account) and search for "Trading Bot" or "Grid Trading" transfer records. If you see an incoming record with a matching amount, the funds are back. If you do not see it after more than 30 minutes, take a screenshot of the termination page and account balance, and contact support.
