Binance DApp Connected to the Wrong Wallet Account? How to Switch Address

Open the Binance app and go to "Trade" or "Assets" at the bottom. Then tap the "Web3 Wallet" entry at the top left or in the middle. If you find that the wallet address connected in a DApp is not the one you want, do not keep clicking "Disconnect" inside the DApp. Simply switch the address in the Binance Web3 wallet first.

Short Answer: The Fix Has Three Steps

Whether you use the in-app wallet or the browser extension, the core logic is the same: first select the address you want in the wallet itself, then let the DApp read the new address again.

Remember: do not try to "switch accounts" inside the DApp. The DApp only reads the address that the wallet exposes to it. It does not have permission to switch accounts. If you disconnect and reconnect in the DApp, you will still get the same address unless you have already changed it in the wallet.

Minimum Steps (Using the Mobile App as an Example)

Case A: You Use the Built-in Web3 Wallet in the Binance App

Switch the active account of the current Web3 wallet.

Steps:

  1. Open the Binance app → tap "Assets" at the bottom → tap "Web3 Wallet".
  2. After entering the Web3 wallet home page, look at the address bar at the top. There will be a small arrow or dropdown button next to it. Tap it.
  3. You will see a list of all addresses created or imported under the current wallet. Select the address you want to use in the DApp this time.
  4. The page will refresh automatically and the address switch is complete.

Done when: the address shown at the top of the home page has changed to the new address you selected.

Case B: You Use the Binance Wallet Browser Extension (Web)

Switch the active wallet through the extension.

Steps:

  1. Click the Binance Wallet extension icon in the top right corner of your browser to open it.
  2. Click the current wallet name or address area at the top of the extension panel to expand the dropdown list.
  3. Select the wallet you want to use from the list (this only works if you have already imported it. If not, you need to import it with a seed phrase or private key first).
  4. Click connect. The extension will ask you to confirm the switch. Confirm it.

Done when: the extension panel shows the new address at the top.

After completing either case above, go back to the DApp page that was not working or showing the wrong address. Refresh the web page or re-enter the DApp. If you are using the in-app browser, pull down to refresh. The DApp will automatically read the latest address exposed by the wallet.

Troubleshooting: DApp Still Not Responding After Switching Address?

Common failure reason 1: The DApp cached the old address. Some DApps do not automatically refresh the connection status after you switch wallets. Force refresh the page (press F5 on PC, pull down on mobile). If it still does not work, click "Disconnect" in the DApp, then reconnect. This time the wallet authorization popup will show the new address. Confirm it.

Common failure reason 2: Network mismatch makes the address "disappear". If the address you switched to is on a different chain than the one the DApp requires, some DApps will show "Not connected" or simply not show the address. Solution: first switch the network in the wallet extension or app to the chain the DApp needs. For example, if the DApp is on BSC, switch the wallet network to BSC, then refresh the DApp.

Common failure reason 3: You used the wrong "switch" entry. If you swipe left or right on the Binance Web3 wallet home page and see labels like "EVM address" or "BNB address", that is not for switching accounts. That only shows assets of the same address on different chains. Do not look there. You must tap the dropdown menu next to the address to switch accounts.

Final Check: How to Confirm the Switch Succeeded?

After switching and refreshing the DApp, check two things:

  1. At the top right of the DApp page or near the connect button, see whether the shortened address matches the first few characters of the new address in your wallet.
  2. If the DApp has "My Assets" or "Profile", check whether the balance matches the balance in the new address.

If both match, the switch is complete and you can use the DApp normally.

Risk reminder: Switching addresses does not involve a transfer, so there is no gas fee. However, if you have approved a token allowance in a DApp before (Approve), that allowance does not follow you to the new address. The new address needs a new approval before you can trade or stake. Some DApps have weak multi-address management. Before switching, it is recommended to exit or close unfinished operations to avoid sending transactions to the wrong address.
