After canceling an order, your account balance still shows "frozen" and has not recovered — most likely your order has not actually been fully canceled, or the funds are being held by other unfilled orders.

Find the source of the frozen funds and release the money from the pending order back to your available balance.

Step 1: Confirm whether the order was really canceled

There is a small time gap between "order canceled" and "funds released". In Binance's system, after a cancel request returns success, the matching engine releases the funds in real time, but the account balance interface may take a few milliseconds to a few seconds to update.

  • What to do: First check whether the order still appears under [Current Orders] (Open Orders). If it is still there, the order was not actually canceled, so the funds are still locked.

  • Done when: The order no longer appears in [Current Orders], and the available balance returns to normal after refreshing the page.

Step 2: Check for "hidden" pending orders holding your money

The frozen balance (Locked Balance) shown in your account is the total funds held by all current unfilled orders. If you place a limit order to buy BTC, the money is locked in that order. If the funds do not return after canceling, it is likely because you have multiple orders open at the same time.

  • What to do: Go to [Current Orders] and review all pending orders. If there is another limit order you did not notice, that money is being held by that order, not by the one you just canceled.

  • Common reason: Many people place limit orders in different trading pairs, such as BTC/USDT and ETH/USDT. Each order locks some funds. If you only cancel one of them, the others still exist, so your balance will not fully return.

Step 3: Check for partial fills

A limit order may only be partially filled, while the remaining part is still waiting. After you cancel, the filled part becomes a position, and only the unfilled part returns to your balance. It is normal for your actual available balance to be lower than expected.

Special scenarios

Case A: You need the funds urgently

  • Go to [Current Orders] and cancel all pending unfilled limit orders. The funds will be released to your available balance immediately. No need to wait; the system releases them in real time.

Case B: You suspect system delay

  • If you have confirmed all orders are canceled but the balance is still incorrect, wait 1–2 minutes and refresh. If it is still frozen, contact customer support through the [Help Center] in the app and provide screenshots of the order ID.

High-risk warning: If you place orders and check balances through an API program, it is recommended to check whether the updateTime returned by the account interface is later than the transactTime of the cancel request. Otherwise you may read outdated frozen balance data. Do not give your account password or 2FA verification code to anyone in public channels.
