Where Are Binance Open Orders? How to Modify and Cancel Orders

The entry to open orders is in the "Open Orders" tab below the trading page. Both the cancel and modify buttons are there. Whether on the website or the app, the path is the same: find the Open Orders list at the bottom of the trading page, then take action. Note: Modifying an order does not directly "edit" the original order—the system cancels the original order first, then creates a new one with a new order ID.

Step 1: Find the "Open Orders" list below the trading page

This is the main hub for all your unfilled orders. It's in the same place on both the website and the app.

  • Website: Log in to Binance, go to a spot trading page (e.g., BTC/USDT). Under the candlestick chart, you'll see the "Open Orders" tab. All unfilled or partially filled limit orders appear here. If you have open orders across several trading pairs, you'll need to switch to each pair's page to see its orders.

  • App: Go to the Trade page, pick your trading pair, and find the Open Orders tab under the chart.

Completion check: You can see a list of all unfilled limit orders for this trading pair, showing price, amount, filled amount, status, etc. If the list is empty, there are no open orders for this pair.

Step 2: Cancel an order — Click "Cancel"

Canceling is the most straightforward action. Use it when you decide to discard a pending order.

How to do it

  • Website: In the "Open Orders" list, find the order you want to cancel and click the "Cancel" button on the right. After confirming the pop-up, the order status changes to "Canceled".

  • App: In the Open Orders list, swipe left on the target order to reveal a red "Cancel" option and tap it. You can also tap the order to open its details and then tap cancel.

If you want to clear all open orders for this trading pair at once, click "Cancel all open orders" on the website.

Completion check: The order disappears from the "Open Orders" list, and the frozen margin or funds return to your available balance.

Step 3: Modify an order — Adjust price or quantity (limit orders only)

Modifying is useful when you don't want to cancel but just want to tweak the price or amount. However, there is a restriction: only limit orders can be modified, not market orders. Also, a modification is essentially "cancel and replace" — the original order is canceled, and the system automatically places a new one. The new order gets a new order ID and loses its time priority in the order book, moving to the back of the queue.

How to do it

  • Website Method 1 (list modify): In the "Open Orders" list, click the "Modify" icon (pencil icon) next to your order. In the pop-up window, change the price or quantity and click confirm.

  • Website Method 2 (chart drag modify): If you've enabled chart order modification (top right of trading page → SettingsOrder Modification → enable Chart Modify), you can drag the order marker on the candlestick chart to a new price and confirm the change in the pop-up.

  • App: In the Open Orders list, tap the "Edit" icon (pencil icon) next to your order. In the pop-up, change the price or quantity and tap confirm.

Completion check: The original order disappears from the list, and a new order appears in "Open Orders" with the updated price/quantity and a different order ID.

Common reasons for failure:

  • Market orders cannot be modified: The modify function only works on limit orders. Market orders are filled immediately and don't stay in an "open" state, so no modify option exists.

  • Modifying loses time priority: If your order was queued at a price level, using the modify feature cancels it and re-submits it, putting the new order at the end of the queue. If you want to avoid losing your place, you can sometimes only reduce quantity without changing price — for example, via API using the keepPriority feature to reduce quantity while keeping queue position.

High risk: Modifying creates a new order that loses its original time priority and moves to the back of all orders at the same price. If you're a market maker placing orders, modifying could make your order harder to fill. Additionally, if your account balance is insufficient during a modification, the system will reject the request and the original order will remain unchanged.

How to verify after the operation: After canceling, go to "Open Orders" and confirm the order is gone and your available balance is restored. After modifying, confirm the new order has the correct price, quantity, and an updated order ID.
