You turned on BNB fee deduction, but at the end of the month you still feel like you did not save money. Do not doubt yourself. You are probably stuck on two small, easy-to-miss details.

Either the switch is not fully turned on, or your BNB is in the wrong place.

Step 1: Confirm the global switch is really on

This switch is off by default. Many people think they turned it on, but they only looked at it without actually enabling it.

[What to do]: Check the global switch for BNB fee deduction.

[How to do it]:

  • App: Tap the profile icon in the top right corner → [Account Settings] → [Trading Fee Settings]. Find the switch next to "Use BNB to pay fees" and make sure it is green and turned on.

  • Web: Click the profile icon in the top right corner → [VIP] or [Fees] page. Find the slider for "Use BNB to pay fees and enjoy a discount" and confirm it is enabled.

[Completion standard]: The page clearly shows that the feature is enabled.

Common failure reason: Many people only turn on the global switch, but when placing a spot order, the "Use BNB to pay" checkbox in the order confirmation popup is not ticked. Both places must be turned on at the same time for the discount to work.

Step 2: BNB must be in your spot wallet, not in Earn

The switch is on, but the system says "deduction failed" when charging fees. Most likely your BNB is in the wrong place.

[What to do]: Confirm that the BNB used for deduction is in the "Available" balance of your Spot Wallet.

[How to do it]:

  • Go to [Wallet] → [Spot Wallet] and find the BNB row.

  • Look at the number in the "Available" column. Only this part of your BNB can be used to pay trading fees.

  • If your BNB is in Flexible Earn or staking, the system cannot see it, so it is the same as having no BNB available.

Case A (Available BNB in Spot Wallet is enough): The feature should work normally.

Case B (Available BNB in Spot Wallet is not enough): If the available balance is zero, redeem BNB from your Earn account back to your Spot Wallet. BNB redemptions can take up to 7 days. If you do not do this early, you will not enjoy the discount during that period.

Case C (Futures users): For futures BNB fee deduction, you need to transfer BNB specifically to your USDⓈ-M Futures Wallet. Keeping it in your Spot Wallet will not work.

Step 3: Check a trade record to verify

[What to do]: After completing a trade, check the order details to confirm the discount was applied.

[How to do it]: Go to [Orders] → [Spot Order History] and open the details of your latest order.

[Completion standard]: In the fee section, you should see something like "Fee: 0.XXXX BNB (BNB deduction applied)" or two lines showing "Original fee" and "BNB deduction amount". If the fee currency shown is USDT, the deduction did not work.

FAQ

Q: Is the BNB fee discount the same for spot and futures?

A: No. Spot trading with BNB usually gets a 25% discount. Futures trading (USDⓈ-M) gets a 10% discount, but you must transfer BNB to your Futures Wallet for it to work.

Q: What happens if my Spot Wallet BNB balance is not enough?

A: The system will charge the full trading fee in the original currency, such as USDT, without any discount. So make sure your balance is enough.

Next steps

Open your Binance app now and do two things:

  1. Go to [Account Settings] and check the "Use BNB to pay fees" switch. Make sure it is green.

  2. Go to [Spot Wallet] and check the "Available" balance of BNB. Make sure there are coins in it.

If both are fine, check the "Fee" line in your next order record and confirm it shows "BNB deduction" instead of "USDT".
